Koray Savas 2,251
I love Beat The Devil. That and Star are my favorites. They are all really great films, but Chosen is the weakest of them all IMO.
Morlock 11
Star was Guy Ritchie's? It was fun. Chosen was pretty weak...but I liked Mychael Danna' music. I really didn't care for Kar Wai Wong's film. Joe Carnahan's was terrific. And I liked how Innaritu brought his own sensibility to the piece (John Woo did too....but that was just boring action, IMO). AzOutcast 122
I agree in that the Casino Royale trailer was terrible in that it seemed like just another Bond flick. That trailer turned me off from seeing the movie altogether. Fortunately, I happened to find a $20 on the ground one particular day and decided, "What the hell," the movie would be free. Ahh, thank God. The trailer looks pretty good. To be honest, my only concern is how well they bring the story together, and hopefully they don't fall back into the typical Bond mold.I think Clive Owen would've made a great Bond, had they continued making Bond stories of him in his prime. The super suave and nearly perfect spy that we're used to. I think it was important that they brought in a face you wouldn't normally associate with Bond, and he certainly brings a roughness to the role that Clive lacks (as much as I love the guy). As for Tony Scott, I actually like his style. If you like Beat The Devil, you should like Man On Fire, they are essentially the same stylistically speaking. True Romance was good. Deja Vu was also enjoyable, for me. Domino was bullpoo. I've only seen Enemy Of The State once and I haven't seen Crimson Tide.
Morlock 11
I know Scott's work. I don't think his style is generally conducive to a 2 hour film. I liked Domino is a weird way. Man on Fire was buried beneath it's style, and crappy ending. Enemy of the State is the only film of his that actually survives his style intact, IMO. His current style was not evident before, and in that film things were still relatively toned down. His style fit the high-tech thriller (Will Smith and Gene Hackman didn't hurt, either). Koray Savas 2,251
Domino was just a re-hash of Man On Fire. Exact snippets of film and music were re-used. I thought Man On Fire was well-made and a great watch though. It was definitely entertaining to say the least.

Morlock- who's probably in the running for gayest post everas small as Israel is you can't ever be too far from the beach That is correct. But I rarely leave the city. There's a stigma of people living here about the rest of the country. I only get to the beach once, maybe twice a year, if that's where me and my friends decide to go for a weekend (even then, we'll rarely go to the Mediterranean...only up north, to the 'Sea of Galilee'). The dead sea is about 45 minutes away from me...but who wants to go there?

Neimoidian 14
Yep. Licence was Glen's best picture, even though it was quite not in line with previous Bonds. I am expecting QoS to be similar in tone to Licence, which doesn't bother me much as long as it's the Casino's direct sequel. On the other hand I'd like to watch Craig in more classic bondesque vein (however, not goofy, nor semi goofy one, like some of the previous). Mr. Breathmask 555
Check out the shots from the interrogation scene in the trailer. The bandage on Mr. White's leg is over the wound he got at the end of Casino Royale.

The bandage on Mr. White's leg is over the wound he got at the end of Casino Royale. I know. I bet that in "50 mistakes of QoS" they will mention that the bandage was inadequate to the kind of wound or it was to high or too low on the leg. Arnold is at his best when he's either not having techno at all, or using it as a tool instead of an orchestra. I think it was DAD that had the techno stuff so loud and chaotic it drowned out the orchestra at times.
Morlock 11
I'd like a consistant score. And an appropriate release. Casino Royale was very good, but a whole lot of the material struck me as not particularly interesting, and the score felt more like a collection of set-pieces spaced out over a long period. Really, there's about 25 minutes in there I like. Frankly, I'm up for someone else having a crack at it. I like Arnold's work...but I'd love a whole new esthetic. Arnold's Bond scores strikes me as very choppy and not consistant in tone. And I don't find enough variety to make them as interesting as Barry's Bond score. Maybe someone with an esthetic of Barry or Morricone, where the score for the scene on the whole is more important than the specific synch-points. Barry.
Mr. Breathmask 555
Arnold challenged Barry during half of Casino Royale?Only moments I can think of is the James Bond theme during the end credits and the big fanfare when the airplane is revealed in the Miami International sequence.Unless you're also referring to the love theme, which I don't think is channeling Barry per se. It's just... a sweeping love theme.

Morlock 11
Well, Barry does have a niche with a certain kind of sweeping love themes. The one from Casino Royale is definitely within that niche. No matter what you're doing, you're treading on Barry territory.

Ollie 1,069
I though Casino Royale and Tomorrow Never Dies were Arnold's best Bond efforts. TWINE & DAD have way too much electronics and they are mixed too loud within the score. If he sticks with the style of CR and TND I'll be happy.
Unlucky Bastard 7,790
TND still remains his best Bond score. TWINE is okay, but his techno gets a bit old, and DAD is just the same thing all over again on acid. Thankfully, CR was a return to basics. But would you rather Eric Serra back?
