I'll be dissapointed if connery returns from retirement for this role, and not return as Professor Jones :), specially when he was more or less 'begged' and it was just a lenghty cameo.

Granted, Bond is a much more iconic role for him, but he even said himself that he's enjoying his retirement too much. I guess he really loves golf.

I will agree if that Sean Connery didn't come out of retirement for Indiana Jones, he certainly won't for James Bond. All this is, is just a rumor which holds no water unfortunately.

No offense, but I don't think you're in a position to be the judge of that Joe.

Olga Kurylenko? She's cute!

Yep. She is a very well-done mix of cuteness and hottness  Not the best looking Bond girl ever, though. She hardly stands up to those chicks from 60s.

After Eva Green, who was a terrific actress and quite attractive, I was very dissapointed that they went for the exotic Slav.

I still can't figure out why my straight mates don't like Sigourney Weaver. She is the penultimate beauty in my eyes.

After watching couple of minutes of Chanel 4 How to look good naked it dawned on me that it ISN'T so.

I am scared to think who is the ultimate...

stereotypes often result from truth.

seriously, what kind of people are best at designing cloths and dressing women, what kind of people do their hair and makeup? Queens thats who, and if your thinking Elizabeth, instead of Freddie Mercury, you're way off base.

I've lost my interest in the Bond franchise somethime ago.

I still like the concept, but it just seems the ultimate Bond movie is never going to be made. What they have come up lately is too surreal, too technical, too un unrealistic and too violent for my taste. I would have loved a less complex story with more charm, romance and a more thorough exploration of the secret agent concept (double roles). More like the old Batman movies. Or superman even.

I thought Casino Royale accomplished what you were looking for in a Bond film.

Yes more than other Bond movies, just I think Daniel Craig is not right for the role. And still it was too surreal. James Bond seldomly walks on a street in the real world.

I'd take Goldfinger and From Russia With Love over it. But that's about it. For all the affection I have towards the others, those three are the ones that really get me excited by James Bond.

I'd also rather watch Dr. No.

I found that Casino Royale lacked some things that would have made one of the best Bond films. It didn't have a decent car chase. I got really excited when he jumped into the Aston Martin, but then 2 seconds later he crashes it. Also, it didn't have a decent villain, or rather, thugs. You need a smaller guy, someone like Jaws or Oddjob.

These gays (and lesbians), who I have met, claimed that stereotypes (either positive and negative) were a result of narrow-minded and opressive society ;) They were devoted LGBT activists, though.

Yes, but then again some of them (many of them?) are way too close to camp in their aestetics to treat them and their judgements seriously. :)

Never liked that one.

For me, the opening chase made up for anything else the movie might have missing, chase wise. One of the best chase scenes I've ever seen.

And I don't get the love for Jaws. He always struck me as a particularly painful element of the Moore era. But, than again, I don't get the love for The Spy Who Loved Me, either.

Neither do I. I prefer any Austin Powers movie over this one.

Not only is Casino Royale a great Bond movie, it's also a superb action film and a damn fine movie on its own.

I might need to give it a watch.

Morlock, TSWLM is considered the best Moore Bond film, and is generally considered a top 5 or 6 Bond film.

It might have been the perfect new Bond film, if Brosnan had starred. Craig's doing fine though. (Though I hope he didn't work out as much for this one. He sometimes looks like one of those people in the waiting room with Beetlejuice.)

That's not saying much.

.....and is generally considered a top 5 or 6 Bond film.

To me, after the top three, the rest are various degrees of entertaining mediocrity. Golden Eye is good (mainly for it's villain). Tomorrow Neve Dies I like (for it's score and villain). After that...Diamonds are Forever (I find it quite amusing, and I love the score) and You only Live Twice (The first hugely ridicules one....and one that still had a great deal of charm). The rest are nothing but nostalgic memories, at this point. Although, for some reason, one line from A View To A Kill has been popping into my head recently.

TSWLM is the best Moore film.

I used to think so when I was younger, but now I can't stand it. I deny it being a Bond movie, but rather think of it as a spoof (and not very funny one). I even like Moonraker more, it's in the same (outrageously stupid) vein, but it has Barry's score and a little bit fewer goofy scenes.

I liked Brosnan. A lot. But he's not as good an actor as Craig, IMO. His best roles have been Bond and anti-Bonds (Matador, Tailor of Panama). I haven't seen much beside that. Though he is immensely likable to be sure.

Even Roald liked it, and he thinks James Bond is for geeks.

I think David has it on dvd, so I may watch it friday.

No one's seen it.

They've filmed it. I wasn't referring to audiences screening it. People who work on it, and descriptions of it, they're aiming to make the chase one of the setpieces of the movie, from what I'm hearing.

TSWLM can be entertaining enough from time to time, but from the Moore films I much prefer For Your Eyes Only.

Live and Let Die and The Man with the Golden Gun seem to be underrated here.

Live and Let Die has it's charms (It gets a real charge from Yaphet Kotto, and the song is one of the best). The Man With The Golden Gun has mostly camp charm for me, seeing Christopher Lee going against Bond. But not a very memorable movie.

I agree, FYEO is the finest Moore, and a pretty underrated 007 flick. But in terms of CASINO ROYALE, I think it's the best 007 movie. GOLDFINGER's a riot, but CR is the first Bond movie where I've really actually felt like I could relate to him in a human way, which is a big step. That and the sight seeing bits never seem as dull as in the other movies. I have to admit, my interest in the series dwindled a lot when I got older, so much so that I didn't even see CR in the cinema (even when I saw DIE ANOTHER DAY - erk.)

I like the opening of FYEO, but the acting is often The Happening bad.
