The elements for James Horner's VOLUNTEERS are deteriorating and the licensor won't let the labels release it

As many of you know, I've been trying to pull this project off for 10 years now. I finally heard definitively from the licensor that they have no interest in licensing any back catalog. It's unfortunate because earlier on we transferred a test reel and there was some deterioration present. I mentioned that the situation only gets worse and we really should get the rest transferred, but that didn't seem to resonate much. So for now at least it's not a possibility.

What the fuck is wrong with these types of people? I just don't understand their ridiculous mentality.

Damn, sorry to hear this. I've never been able to understand the unwillingness from certain licensors and rights holders in this type of thing.

By the way, there's a considerable amount of completely unreleased Horner; hopefully their fate will be better than VOLUNTEERS. I did a thread on these items on FSM awhile back:

With deceased composers, it's always important to get the unreleased work out there -- the only "new" music we will ever get.
