Incanus 5,716
Well Madonna sang the worst Bond song in living memory so I think Robbie can't go much lower (I truly hope so).

Mr. Breathmask 555
I have no idea who Tony Christie is, but Williams seems well-suited to sing a Bond song.

ChrisAfonso 186
Whoever doubts that Williams can do a great Bond song needs to check out "Man for all Seasons" from "Johnny English". That one was the far better "Bond" song in 2002."I'm a huge fan of the old school 007 songs like Shirley Bassey with Goldfinger and Tom Jones singing Thunderball, so I tried to give it that authentic sound. We are due to record it in February.""Goldfinger" and "Thunderball" are indeed my favorite Bond songs (together with "Surrender"), so if the new song is in a similar style, that's absolutely fine with me
Mr. Breathmask 555
Yeah, I was going to mention Johnny English. Also mentioned already is Williams' song Millennium, which uses a bit from Barry's YOLT score. And it's used quite nicely, I might add.
SturgisPodmore 0
It says "Williams wanted for Bond theme tune" at that link.DO YOU KNOW WHAT I THOUGHT THAT MEANT?????~Sturgis,
Docteur Qui 1,544
Indeed, I was also going to mention his efforts on Johnny English. As great as a "traditional" brassy affair would be, I think I'd prefer something else. A ballad, perhaps - not like "All Time High" or "Nobody Does it Better", but a rock ballad with jazz influences like "Live and Let Die" and "The World Is Not Enough". It's also interesting to note that Arnold's not writing the song. I hope he uses it though, along with his own themes. We need another TND from him. #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
This news is interesting, but please beware that announcements about who is gonna do the next Bond song almost always turns out to be false.

Greg1138 3
A Bowie Bond song - that would be interesting....This news is OK - Robbie is a great singer and Christie obviously has affection for the genre....to those naysayers I ask this - what songs written by Christie have you listened to that put you off him?Sadly though I echo Steef's comment that thought this is the news NOW, it usually changes once or twice before the final version.... TheRuleOfThirds 0
It's David Bowie's turn!No way. Clapton. What'd be even better is if Arnold wrote an instrumental piece like the OHMSS opening creds. Get a cool Bond theme and Clapton's solos...it's gold. Sandor 797
I've just read two weird reports on the title song for Casino Royale. First that George Michael will sing it and second Robbie Williams. Of the two, I would prefer Michael I guess. What is true about these rumors? And on a side note: what main title Bond song did you like most after License To Kill? Me: probably Goldeneye. Not sure though.
Mr. Breathmask 555
At this point it is safe to assume any rumors we here are just that: rumors.Of the two, I think I'd prefer Williams, though. And I don't know what I like most after License to Kill. There's rather a lot of choice. I think it's the worst song of the lot, except for the abysmal Die Another Day.Surrender is pretty good, though. Sandor 797
Surrender was good, but it was not used for the main title sequence. Somehow; I can already hear Robbie Williams' Casino Royale in my head. Although I like his music, it's somewhat predictable too. However with George Michael it could be a total mess; a song even weirder than Die Another Day, BUT it could also be a classic. Michael has the potential, but I don't know whether he will go all the way...
robthehand 3
I raised the topic here. It's definitely just a rumour at this stage.
Orson 1
It wouldn't surprise me in the least given some of the choices they have already made.
