Hey how about we attend the signing and throw raw eggs at him!!! That ought to give him some ideas! ROTFLMAO

(sorry Gustavo, I still feel too bitter about JW not winning)

Uh? Was he involved with the movie at all? Didnt he composed his music before shooting started?! 8O

We are so mean with this man...

That's real overnight fame.

Mean?

Naaaah.

The MV trend might be over: instead of Silvestri getting fired for wanting to write a full-blooded orchestral score for Pirates of the Caribbean, to be replaced by Zimmer (providing a new but short theme) and Badelt & his pals (going through the MV archives and hard drives, patching up together a best of of 10 years of action scores), this time Hans, Klaus & Co will be replaced by the latest Oscar-Winner, to provide for the 150-minute film about 140 minutes of songs and 20 30-second tracks of banjo.

Orginal score nominees need not bother attend next year's 20 international award ceremonies: they are all reserved for this astounding achievement.

PS:

Naturally, it's not the composer that is to blame, but the nincompoops would transformed this into a spoof of an award.

Herrmann, Newman, Mancini, Steiner, Bernstein, Goldsmith, and so many quality composers must rightly feel insulted.

If it goes on like this, in 50 years, it will be an honor not to receive the award.

I have nothing personal against the guy, he seems like a nice and humble person, so let him bask in his moment of glory.

Don't fault him.

Cant wait to hear 'Banjo duel'

But then that would be a rip off of Monkey Island 3...

I fully agree with that, Gustavo Santaollala is not to blame, it is not his entire fault if he won and now, the Oscar satuette has lost its value, it means nothing anymore...

Gustavo shouldn't bear the brunt of our collective dismay at the crappy voting the occured. This is probably the only Oscar he'll ever get while Williams has 5 to his credit. Of course, it does irk me that Gustavo has the same number of Oscars as Jerry Goldsmith....Now that's a real drag.
