  1. It was very specifically stated on the site that the pre-orders could not be changed or cancelled because they were pre-orders. This is what prompted me to order it when it was it was still available; it sounded just strange enough to make me nervous.
  2. I’ve gotten the shipping notice for mine, but like others have said if you track it looks like it’s just sitting there. The way this is going I half expect to receive an email at some point: “We are sorry to inform you that your order has been cancelled, we did not actually expect anyone to order this product so we did not make any.”
  3. Your enthusiasm for Sleepers was what got me listening to it years ago.
  4. It's his best of the 90's! The Football Game is what the Sunday Night Football theme should have been.
  5. The Sun Also Rises -- Hugo Friedhofer (Gerhardt's recording of this on the Captain Blood disc is superb!) There's also a great sunrise cue in his score for The Best Years of Our Lives.
  6. Actually, he wrote the intro/end credits music for season 1 of TZ, and then it was replaced for the second season with the more familiar, quirky piece of library music that is usually remembered as the TZ theme. It's one of Herrmann's most sublime themes. And it fits the show like an eerie and foreboding glove.
  7. They're not actually, Ol' FishChip may have taken down the link from the homepage, but you can still access the old MM messageboard. E.g.: http://www.moviemusic.com/mb/Forum1/HTML/012530.html Navigating through them and finding specific posts could be tedious, but they are there.
  8. I quite like Bernstein's own stereo recording for Return of the Magnificent Seven; basically an abridged re-recording of the original. Lively recording.
  9. Knights of The Round Table/The King's Thief -- Rozsa Wolf Totem -- Horner Symphonies 1-8 -- Vaughan Williams (Boult, Mono recordings)
  10. Hyperbole, of course. The first two Hobbit scores are fine, indeed. (BOTFA might be, too, but who can tell through that awful mix?) I'll still take SUN though. And History of Violence, which I like to call "More Music From The Two Towers and Return of the King". When Worlds Collide -- Leith Stevens
  11. Soul of the Ultimate Nation Skip the Hobbit crap! This is the only follow-up to Shore's Ring Trilogy that you need.
  12. Taras Bulba -- Waxman About to crank up The Ride to Dubno!! Better cover your ears, Inky!
  13. 1. The Artist Who Did Not Want To Paint 2. The Wind and the Lion 3. Night Crossing 4. Star Trek: The Motion Picture 5. Planet of the Apes 6. Capricorn One 7. The Blue Max 8. The Final Conflict 9. Star Trek: The Final Frontier 10. 100 Rifles
  14. Legends of the Fall is mushy, schmaltzy, melodrama bumped up to 11 (or 12), but nobody did that like you, James. The Ludlows
  15. When Williams is gone, there will be very little point to these films. Just stop making them!
  16. Yes! Like the book people at the end of Farenheit 451.
  17. I like Gia, but he's yet to have a year as good as Broughton's 1993: Homeward Bound and Tombstone?!
  18. I got the Outland/Capricorn disc because I could get it for less than just the re-release of the Capricorn One re-recording. More = better I may still get FSM's release of Outland at some point, but until someone re-releases the Capricorn film version I don't really want to pay the prices the Intrada release demands these days. And I'd still want the the album recording anyway, as has been discussed.
  19. El Cid for me today as well, Inky! Listening to the Tadlow now, and heck, I might put on Rozsa's own recording on after that.
  20. FSM had "Charter Member" subscriptions until 2006. http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/board/posts.cfm?forumID=1&pageID=5&threadID=32638&archive=1 Oh, and huzzah! I've finally almost won Jason's guessing game!
