Even though I saw the Batman animated series back then don't remember this but also never remembered any of the music from the series. So I'll be skipping these releases. These days gotta be choosy on purchases but kudos to LLL for releasing them.

It's a shame. You're missing out on some GREAT work by Walker and co..

I'm listening to my copy right now -- in fact, the cues for "World's Finest." (And then "In Brightest Day" next.) Brings back memories of the TV show, and well-composed music on its own.

Of the hundred-plus releases I've worked on, SUPERMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES is one of the albums I'm most proud of. Everyone involved gave their all, and the music is just amazing ... superhero scoring for the ages! I'll be sorry to see this set go out of print, and hope we get the chance to bring you more incredible music from the series in the future.

After 4 years, multiple sales and discounts we will have sold 1500 units of this magnificent set. That's half the run.

We have a tentative vol 2 box set in the wings that would be either 6 or 7 discs that would complete the series for just die hard fans. Ultra limited edition release (probably 500 units) with a possible cost of $150. Still working out the numbers and seeing if its possible. Toying with pre order concept.

Thoughts?

Instead of a Vol 2 of just what wasn't on Vol 1, for $150 I'd prefer an 10-11 disc set of the entire series, with all the episodes in order, whether they were on Vol 1 already or not

Well, originally I was thinking they wouldn't have to pay to have the elements re-transferred again for those 4 discs worth of episode cues, but then I remembered they'd still have to pay re--use fees again to the LA ochestras again.  womp womp.

Love this: Mayhem of the Music Meister

I discovered that last year, tons of fun, I agree! The opening track in particular has some really vibrant sounding big band writing. Overall, I actually really enjoy the show, my favorite besides the Animated Series and Beyond.

World's Finest has some fun music, too, and the movie is a light but satisfying union of two series that featured a creatively-sparked team on every front, given reign by the studio. I really like the music for this scene, reminds me of Herrmann in a way.

Brave and the Bold...I may even like it EQUALLY to BTAS, for completely different reasons obviously.  I haven't seen the "unaired episode" even though I have it on Blu-ray, but I've been waiting because I don't want to be "done" with it.  Of course, now there's some weird BATB/Scooby Doo DTV movie, so I guess I can finish the series and then have that just hanging out there.

I think the score is great on that show too, but I don't think it has the relistening value that BTAS or STAS does.

Yep!  Just came out recently!

It's not the first BATB/Scooby Doo crossover, either!

http://braveandbold.wikia.com/wiki/Bat-Mite_Presents:_Batman's_Strangest_Cases

This was an anthology episode from the last season, which included a MAD Magazine "Batboy and Rubin" segment, a Batman Scooby Doo segment, and a Bat-Manga segment.

Man that show was so silly and good.  Can't wait until my kid is old enough so I can watch it with her.
