gkgyver 1,647 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Toy car gives first look at The LizardMore pics hereIf that's the real thing, that's disappointing, to say the least. He looks like he's from Zeta Reticuli.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 If it's so obvious, then why even say that it's disappointing. It's a toy, and therefore not the real thing.
Score_Fan 37 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 According to the leaked comic-con footage, well the shit cell phone quality pictures, he will have a snout.
Score_Fan 37 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I have faith in this movie. That being said, my anticipation isn't nearly as high as they were for the Raimi films.
Luke Skywalker 2,386 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Because, supposedly, this toy uses the film's design of the Lizard. So, this gives us a rough idea of what he will look like in the film. And he doesn't have a snout. I want him to have the snout. Can you tell me where the snout is?I demand an anatomically correct lizard snout!
KK 3,313 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I on the other hand, don't have much faith in this film. I'm still pretty unsure why its being made at all (besides for money). And the trailer just sold me to believe this film will suck. I'll watch it for James Horner's score though! Its been a while since we've had a superhero score from the guy!
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,391 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Every film is made because of money. It looks less melodramatic then the Raimi films.
Score_Fan 37 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I think it looks more dramatic. The trailer was a serious, and dark trailer.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,391 Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 More drama, less melo.I doubt this film will have the lead actress being unhappy because she did not get a part in a musical.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,391 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Looks much better then the Raimi film
Jay 46,245 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Hey that looks significantly better than I was expecting
sandman609 0 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Haha, when I heard the line "I have to stop him, because I created him" my immediate thought was Mark Zuckerberg!
Matt C 605 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 It looks more like its own entity as opposed to just a remake of the 2002 film (but it definitely suffered from the syndrome that affected the Raimi films: Spider-Man being unmasked). That said, I'm still not sold on it.The cinematography looks phenomenal, though.
Trent B 354 Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 I too have to admit that trailer does make it look a lot better. I may actually check this movie out.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Oh, all of a sudden everyone wants to see it
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,391 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I was always supportive of it.
Score_Fan 37 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I was always going to see it, but it doesn't make the first trailer any less shit. This trailer however, was a much better one, and so yes. I will be at the midnight showing of this one.Not sure if it will be better than the Raimi ones though.
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I find it perturbing they've gone down the darkness route. I always wanted a spidey film that looked like Donner's Superman.
Luke Skywalker 2,386 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 is that the worst CGI for a big budget film in recent years?UGLY.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Looks great to me. Spider-Man 3 fits the bill for worst CGI considering it has one of the highest budgets in film history.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,391 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Spider-man 3 has good effects.
Luke Skywalker 2,386 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Great, Koray, Really?Average at best.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 No, great. It has the talent in front of and behind the camera that 95% of blockbusters lack.
Brónach 1,330 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I don-t like the suit and the actors are too old.I can-t put the volume on right now to hear the dialogue but the rest seems to be okay.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Um, then don't watch it? How can you judge something that with half of the required senses? It'd be like judging a concert while being deaf. Eh, the conductor looked like he was doing an okay job.
Wycket 36 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I find it perturbing they've gone down the darkness route. I always wanted a spidey film that looked like Donner's Superman.Did you not see the Raimi films? Each one completely follows the first three Superman films, complete with strong American images like the flag prominently displayed in all three.

It'd be like judging a concert while being deaf. Eh, the conductor looked like he was doing an okay job.I'm just talking about the visuals. It does seem to be ok except some unfinished CGI.
mrbellamy 8,245 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Meh, looks pretty typical. I'll probably end up seeing it anyway.
Andy 7,733 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 This looks really dull.I must agree. God, I hate modern trailers. Does every line have to be whispered? It's so EPIC!!!! Gimme a break. Look in the early source material and you'll find punchy, upbeat, fun stories that resemble none of this.
gkgyver 1,647 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Look in the early source material and you'll find punchy, upbeat, fun stories that resemble none of this.Didn't you hear?It is the UNTOLD story!I have to agree that this looks pretty average. And it looks as if Gwen is playing a blond MJ, with a little more sex thrown in.Judging by the trailer, I also think Maguire captured the nerdy persona of Peter Parker a lot better than this guy.The most interesting aspect still remains Horner's score.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,391 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Judging by the trailer, I also think Maguire captured the nerdy persona of Peter Parker a lot better than this guy.Maquire played Peter Parker as a traditional "Revenge Of The Nerds" type nerd.Gardfield has more of a "nerd-chique" thing going on. The modern nerd is highly affluent, actually has lots of friends and can even be attractive.
Quintus 6,499 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I hope this movie flops just as a lesson.

The modern nerd is highly affluent, actually has lots of friends and can even be attractive.Which is the complete opposite of who Peter Parker is. Raimi's movies faltered in many ways but they nailed Peter's character. It's like remaking Star Trek and having Spock be a complete dick who makes really illogical dec... oh wait.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,391 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 The problem is that the traditional nerd really is now a really dated concept.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,391 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 haven't we all moved on from the concept that someone interested in computers, comic books and specific genre's of films is a loser?
Brónach 1,330 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I'm all that and I constantly border on being a loser, do I count?
Charlie Brigden 7 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I imagine a lot of people see us as losers. The wankers.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,391 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Jocks are the new nerds.

And not for the first time this week. Sort your act out man! What's going on?Judging by the trailer, I also think Maguire captured the nerdy persona of Peter Parker a lot better than this guy.Maquire played Peter Parker as a traditional "Revenge Of The Nerds" type nerd.Gardfield has more of a "nerd-chique" thing going on. Brónach 1,330 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I've never thought the Raimi movies were that close to Peter Parker. They felt short on Peter as a scientist, and on Peter as the funny dude he's supposed to be.
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I don't really care much about the comics, even though apparently this film is insanely more faithful than Raimi's films, I just like good movies.Webb > RaimiGarfield > MaguireStone > DunstSheen and Field > whoever those guys wereAnd for the tone they're going for, Horner > Elfman
