Not Mr. Big 4,639
Amistad is OK. I would prefer they release The Terminal and Munich first.

It is a flawed but worthy film. What?!? Both MUNICH and A.I. are outright masterpieces, IMO -- some of my favourite Spielberg films. I can understand the qualms against ALWAYS and HOOK, but they have plenty of redeeming features too. AMISTAD is more decent than people give it credit for, although the court scenes are a little over-the-top, Americana-wise.

indy4 155
I thought Amistad was good when I saw it. The scenes involving the Middle Passage are hard to watch at times.
Wojo 2,453
It's not a movie I ever cared to see because I'm interested by neither the subject matter nor the period in history.
Naïve Old Fart 9,533
It took me three viewings to raelly "get into" "Amistad", but I now I think that it is one of SS's best "later" films. The upside-down shot (through a camera's view-finder) of Jeremy Northam is brilliant.
