Thank God!!! Finally!!! After a pretty horrible year, I'm on holiday for two long months!! It feels good!!!

And since I do not consider myself as someone who is selfish, I'm ready to do for you whatever you would like to do if you were on holiday: if you would like to go the beach, just tell me, and I'll go for you! Want to read a book under a tree? No problem, I'm here! I'm open to any suggestion you may have!

I love holidays. It always feels like anything is possible!

Well this means you will have inexorbitant amounts of time to post here, doesnt' it BloodBoal?

I on the other hand would kill for a job. You can't have a holiday when you don't have a job.

Ars superior est vita hominum.

"We pop out and come into the world and music is there. We didn't invent it - it's all organised in the atmosphere by divinity or whatever. It's a miracle." - John Williams-

I think music is a stream of some kind. It could be blood. It could be water. It could be ether. Whatever it is it seems to be a living, organic force that’s in motion, that serves humanity and is part of humanity and part of what describes us as humans. We sing, play, dance, all the things that we do. And there is a vibrant and great literature we have been given. ... As musicians, we join the stream. We swim in the stream with all the other millions of music makers. It’s a life force, a strong one, surrounding us and we are part of it. -John Williams-

Well, that wasn't so much a problem when I was working, was it? But yes, my post count is about to double in just a week, probably.

Today starts my holiday too. Will go down south tomorrow, to spend a few days on our family island (and a few in my hometown after that), then back to Oslo for big city holiday, another brief weekend trip to our summer house in Denmark in August and then the BIG trip to California in late August (to see John Wililams live, among other things). Those are my plans.

I'm off next Wednesday for a Holiday, I will be off in September for a vacation. And a Holiday too.
OH God, Joe is posting again, someone hand me my pills!

"You're not John Conner, I saw you die, said Kyle". "I was only injured, replied John". "No, your injuries were too severe, you died. Look at you, where are your injuries? You're, you're a Terminator." "Kyle, its still me, yes my body was beyond repair, but my essence is here." He points to his head. "No John". Kyle raised his pulse rifle and aimed it at John but before he could fire, John fired first. Knocked to the ground Kyle looked up at the Terminator in the form of the man he once idolized. All hope was lost. "If you kill me how will you ever be born?" "Thats a good question Kyle, all this time we've focus on Sarah, on John, when had we known the it was you we should have targeted all along." John pointed his rifle at Kyle's face. "The resistance is finished, the battle is won. We the machines are the victors, salvation is ours." Kyle never heard the second shot.

My 10 day vacation comes to an end today.

I went down to Pennslyvania and played disc golf at 4 different courses, and saw 3 Pawtucket Red Sox @ Lehigh Valley Ironpigs baseball games at Coca Cola Field, which is an AMAZING stadium with AMAZING food, including the best corn on the cob I've ever had.

I also went up to the White Mountains in New Hampshire with my girlfriend and we camped for 3 nights. It rained while we were setting up and while we were taking our stuff down, but in between we had good weather. We climbed a mountain (my second 4,000+ footer; her 6th), we cooked awesome food over the camp fire, I started reading a great book (Ender's Shadow) and relaxed in a hammock (Hammocks freaking RULE, why did I never buy one until now?)

Today I cleaned my car inside and out (boy, did it need it!) and went for a swim in the lake I live on (Why did I wait until now to go in this year? The water is PERFECT).

I don't want to go back to work tomorrow! But at least I have several pages of JWFan threads to catch up on....

My first summer holiday of the season is also over today. Spent a week at our previously-mentioned family island with one or two really good and sunny days -- here are four mood shots:

http://a1.sphotos.ak...781296919_n.jpg (it's the island in the middle of the photo)

Now it's back to Oslo for a few things to sort out, and then it's probably back to the South again for a few more days.

I've still got 4 weeks and 1 day to use this year. No concept what to do with it whatsoever. But I like the idea of still having some time to book, just in case.

Karol
From a storytelling point of view, from a directing point of view, there is one thing I associate with what he does, which is calm. There is such an inherent calm and inherent trust of the one powerful image, that he makes me embarrassed with my own work, in terms of how many different shots, how many different sound effects, how many different things we’ll throw at an audience to make an impression. But with Kubrick, there is such a great trust of the one correct image to calmly explain something to audience. There can be some slowness to the editing. There’s nothing frenetic about it. It’s very simple. There’s a trust in simple storytelling and simple image making that actually takes massive confidence to try and emulate. - Christopher Nolan

We (i.e. the extended family who owns the island) actually have TWO. We have to, because you can't get to it by car. My dad has owned a few boats over the years, including a sailboat by our summer house in Denmark, but he has sold them as we haven't really had the time to use them to justify the expense.

Don't you have any friends who can take you out sometime, Alice? I'm not sure, however, how the boating possibilities are in your area (I've just been to the city itself).
