  1. So...you are still in school, watch a lot of TV and surf the internet. How did you know!
  2. Neil, a personal question: What do you do for a living? I'm an electronic engineer student here in Spain (it's not only about electronics, I also study signal porcessing and network managment ) and next year I'll have to choose my "minor" (it's not really a minor, just what we call specialization), and I'm interested in Audiovisual Systems. Since you seem to be very well informed, what you tell me anything I shoul know about this world? Thanks a lot!
  3. Thanks for all the job! I have two comments. I also felt some of the cuts were rough, but I'm sure it's because I am used to the cues in the album way, so the changes sound weird. Otherwise, I think they would sound perfect to me. Something I didn't like is that after TPM I felt some really good music was left outside the complilation, and should be there. On the other hand, one of the best things are the compilations of the action cues, specially in AotC and RotS. They are just awesome! Thanks again!
  4. When I heard Grievious motif at first, after watching the character in Clone wars, I thought, what the h*** was he thinking about with that funny tune (not in the sense of our new friend in the forum of course ) But after watching Grivious moving, I think it's just perfect.
  5. Well, now that some people asked, I'll take my chance. For weeks/months I have been wondering what all that alternate tracks stuff from TPM were about. I only have the standard edition and the UE but since I have no computer games from TPM, I never got any extra music. What I inferred from all that I read is that some music written for the film was never used and it has been used in other media like games. Is it right? So some people made the "real ultimate" edition, ala original trilogy, with all these cues. Am I still right? So, can any good soul PM me with information or this alternate material? Thanks!
  6. Anakin's Betrayal followed by Anakin's Dark Deeds. IMHO the dramatic material is far superior to the action one in this album (which doesn't mean action cues are bad). I also like Battle of the Heroes, and I can't wait how long it is used in film.
  7. I did exactly the same thing ! It's amazing how faster you can walk without noticing it if the music asks for it.
  8. After what Drax said in the MR thread about being a pre-crime agent, I just want to share my experience in that way, which happens me a lot. I usually listen to soundtracks on my discman while I just go somewhere alone, whether is to college, by bus, foot, or whatever. The thing is that sometimes, things happen around you that have to do with the music at that moment, like changes in the rythm just when you pass from one place from the other, dark music for dark places or fast music for fast activities. Some of these experiences are for instance going through a lonely park at night with Sleepy Hollow, running through people to catch the bus with the Asteroid field, and listening to the Black Rider from TFotR in a dark passage. These are just examples, since it happens to me all the time. In general it's just coincidence that I listen to the cues, but when it fits real life, it's just great. Does it also happen to you or should I go to the doctor?
  9. I'm also interested tlbauerle! In fact I think it's a shame they just forgot so many themes from the PT in the new bonus DVD; I just hope than when I get a new computer, which should be in short time, I learn to do all these things.
  10. The effort was worth Roald! I pretty much agree with most of the statements in your review. The thing is that it took me a few listenings to get that enthusiastic about this album, after the dissapointing I felt when it leaked. I hope that good music is inspired by an, at least, decent movie. These 37 days are gonna be sooooooo long!
  11. I guess you've tried splitting it into several posts then
  12. With this beggining I can imagine it's gonna be a loooooooong review. Come on guy get it out. We all wanna read it.
  13. He is the composer of Requiem for a dream, IMHO a brilliant movie with a good main theme; though I remember he used it all over again during the movie and was a bit dull. I missed some variety. The theme was also used in The Two Towers trailer
  14. Thank you very much John for removing the spoilers. Unluckily it was too late for me, I just had read it all long, so one of the spoilers os no longer one for me (what you called big spoilers). It wasn't that bad with the mega-spoiler because I always thought that fact would happen in episode III, but it is good you hid it. Next time I'll wait till you clean it of dirty spoliers
  15. I think some of those ideas are great ideas, especially those about the ewoks and the second Death Star. Others don't appeal to me that much, such as Leia not being Luke's sister, or having to say goodbye to Han. But at least with this last one, Han would have had the best farewell in ESB. I think some directors need someone to tell them no, adn Lucas is one of them. I think Spielberg in his latest films is another good example, he cannot choose what scenes should do it and whcich ones shouldn't, and we then find more than two hours long films which deserve no more than 1:45. But going back to the point, I think MacCallum is the worst thing that has happened to SW. I just can't stand him in the featurretes, talking as if they were making instant classics, as if they were managing what Kurtz did in the 80s.
  16. The new main theme is an action theme... with chorus!! OMG, I just can't wait to listen to all this. And when I read about Leia's theme! It reminds me of a feeling I had while I was seeing TPM for the first time. When at the beginning we listen to Luke's theme when Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan start to fight the droids, though I must admit it was thematically wrong, it was perferct for the sensation I think Lucas wanted us to feel: Star Wars is back. I think we will feel this over and over again during Episode III.
  17. I prefer TPM UE. I love the way you can tell what's happening on screen in the last tracks with the 3-4 layers of action being shifted from time to time. When I listen to AotC I like it, I think it's a good score, but I expected more from a SW score. I also expected more from a SW movie  I hope Episode III is more inspiring for Williams. That, combined with the fact that he will use some of the best themes from the saga gives me hope to have a great score.
  18. It happens the same to me, but I live in Spain I was hoping he would perform in London this year with all the Episode III stuff, it's a pity it won't happen. But you know, crossing the ocean for a concert is too much for me, even if we're talking about Williams. Or maybe it would be the perfect excuse to go back to the States...
  19. Star Wars, though is SO difficult to choose.

  21. Jason thanks for all the files. Now I can't wait till the DVD comes out. It's over month I saw the movie and I had forgotten what the music what used for in some parts. It is really a pity that the Pettigrew motif didn't make it into the CD. I hope someday a complete edition of this score comes out, but I can't see it happening. Unless it gets and Oscar nomination, I don't think they will even think about it. And although I prefer PoA, I think it will be The Terminal that gets nominated. A pity. Has anyone tried to make a CD with the cues in order? I'm thinking of doing it. Is it really posible with the music from the album, or it gets weird when you cut the tracks? Well, I'd like to ask you a favour Jason, or someone who got the source music from the Boggart scene when Jason uploaded it. Could someone upload it again? I was too late and I was not able to download it. Thanks in advance. Besides, you forgot to upload La Cumparsita
  22. Hi! If you just could add me on that briefcase thing! My ID is israpolo Thanks a lot!
  23. I was quite happy about Gambon's Dumbledore. Richard Harris' Dumbledore was OK; well, it was better than OK, it was quite good. But I liked better Dumbledore in the books, and Gambon was closer to the book IMO. Instead of that charming and nice man than Harris was, Gambon is a weirdo, most of the times you don't get what he's trying to say (unless you've read the book and know what's gonna happen), and is kind of a little crazy. I loved Gambon's Dumbledore. Another idea about this: when Dumbledore's role was not signed yet after Harris died, names such as Peter O'Toole or Cristopher Lee were proposed for the role. But they chose someone younger. They want Dumbledore for the rest of the series.
  24. Hi! I'm new here. I've been reading the forum for a few weeks but never got down to writing. But I have something to say here. La Cumparsita is the piece that comes from TV just the moment after Harry blows up aunt Marge. As simple as that. Remember when you watch the movie again!
