With Palpatine being back, that makes Vaders sacrifice and redemption in ROTJ seem pointless. He killed Palpatine to save his son, but his son became a miserable old man who died because he ran out of force battery, and then Palpatine just came back...
So Disney are now trying to destroy the meaning and power of the original trilogy. Thanks Kathleen. Thanks Rian. Thanks J.J.
It's great. You haven't lived life if you haven't faced your most prized moments turning into pointlessness. Frankly you sound like a 10 year old.
The mythological forefathers of Star Wars have always been about the endless, pointless struggle and this idea that your deeds matter, and speak volumes about you, especially in the face of pointlessness.

What a charlatan. Talking out of his ass with hardly any good work to show for it.
C'mon. Show us your good work or GTFO.

Thanks for pointing that out. I'm sure no one noticed.
I agree. This is a terrible clickbait title. Ban OP!

The important question is what kind of writing tool JW used to write his classic scores during his golden era. It surely wasn't an automatic pencil.
Eagle electronic scorer 350. The company isn’t around anymore. But a Google search shows John donated the Star Wars pencil for a charity auction.
You can probably find some new vintage ones for $4-7

Fun fact, he's actually wearing those jean shorts under the desk in the picture I posted.

Now we all can write like John Williams!
Oh won’t it be just so grand!

As I sat reading an article on John Williams this morning...I recognized my daily go-to pencil in his hand in this photo:
Ladies and gentlemen:
I’m not exactly sure if he is using .5, .7, or .9mm lead, but now you can pretend to be as cool as John Williams, and better yet, your beloved Blumenkohl. Not sure what brand turtle neck to wear and match though.
FWIW I use .5 mm. But I use a softer lead (2B) so it draws/writes thicker. My guess from the photo is that John alsouses .5mm.

Make sure you stick to the Express line. The other Pentel Twist lines have a gaudy/bougie silver tip that won’t match your black turtleneck.

I've been perusing the JWFan articles and interviews (http://www.jwfan.com/?page_id=129). Fucking great resource. I'm reading an article every morning with my coffee, going through chronologically. Unfortunately some links are broken.
Do any of you die-hards have backup? PDF collection?

Cool. I think what I liked about it was that it felt like the kind of shot that goes from concept art to screen completely intact.

Have you heard any other Tchaikovsky symphony cycles?
Karajan and Muti.

I also had a big Tchaikovsky weekend:
Claudio Abaddo and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra playing Symphony No. 6 and Marche Slave.
Itzhak Perlman on the violin with the London Symphony Orchestra for his Concerto for Violin and Orchestra.
As well as Edvard Grieg's Holberg Suite.
I too was listening to Abaddo CSO for my Tchaikovsky this weekend.
The 6 CD purple box right?

The final rendition of Hedwig’s theme in PoA: why does it sound like it intentionally suffers from a drop in momentum in the climax?

Yep. You don't get this level of consistency in quality over this many tracks this often.

Bear did a helluva job breathing new life into the glorious old themes.
