Johnny already left, they're just cutting to footage of him in the audience from the 70's. You can tell if you really look close.

Oh man I haven't seen any of these animated shorts, but I hope My Year Of Dicks wins just based on the name
Is that the harvey weinstein biopic starring Jennifer Lawrence?

I love how awkward and cringe-worthy it is when they show the clips of the acting nominees. Most of them are overacting scenes. Ironic how the biggest award show for acting thinks that the best acting someone did is a screaming and crying scene. It's like they don't even know what they're awarding to people. "Shouting is good acting...right?" Yet the best performances are almost always the subtle ones with an ability to convey many emotions in a normal reserved way.
E.g. Heath Ledgers performance in Brokeback Mountain is masterful, yet people sight the Joker as his best performance, which is not subtle at all, and is incredibly theatrical. (Still brilliant of course)

I love Lost. The ending really hit me on a deep level. I understand the criticisms of it having no idea where it was going, but that's basically 99% of all tv shows anyway.

Not a fan of award shows anymore, especially the oscars, but wanted to tune in to see Johnny. Nice to hear him mentioned right at the start.

As someone who goes to concerts at every opportunity, I haven't noticed a decline in regular Film music concerts.
E.g. my next two concerts are in May, one of them is called 'The music of LOTR, Game of Thrones and Beyond.' Where they perform stuff like Avatar, HTTYD, Narnia, etc. And the other is just called 'Movie Magic' where it's a selection of random film scores.
In fact, there are so many random concerts around me called things like 'The Best of John Williams' etc that I struggle to actually go to every one of them, and they're all within an hour drive or public transport.
And then on top of that you get Live to film concerts, which I also love because you hear every note written for the film.
2 hours ago, Tallguy said:My greatest condemnation of To Picture concerts is that during the end credits people get up and walk out. (I have a sample size of ONE for this. But it was The Empire Strikes Back where you should absolutely be staying for the end credits.) So I feel that for a big chunk of the audience they aren't there for the music so much as a really expensive showing of a classic film.
(Why yes, I AM gatekeeping.)
Don't worry, I also hate the common scum that infect my film music concerts. And they are getting worse by the day in their ignorance and disgusting lack of manners.
If I were a millionaire, I would design and build my own intimate concert hall, and hire an orchestra every week to play my chosen selections...with no one in the audience but me.
Muwahahahahaha

Hell yes. I love the behind the scenes of my favourite films just as much as the films themselves. It's fascinating information.
Hoping all of this (and maybe more) is on a physical release.

I love how 6:15-6:30 in 'Leaving the Dockyard/Under Fire' is basically Poe's Theme haha.

I swear I remember it being used relatively frequently in the episodes themselves for that very purpose, and of course some of the ship going in and out of Quantum/establishing shots of the ship.
Maybe I'm remembering wrong, or maybe they just aren't on the album for fear of repetitiveness.

I understand the desire for more themes, but there are some lovely thematic ideas throughout. The obvious being the main theme, then the villain themes for the Moclan material, the Kaylon, and the Krill. But there are also gorgeous themes like the love theme for Claire and Isaac and Haveena's theme.

I didn't know that Scream was a highly praised franchise around here.
I've been a fan since the first one. It's my favourite of its genre, but they're not exactly great films.
There are great things in them, like 1, 2 and 4; specifically the meta stuff, but I don't think they're being praised necessarily for being great, but just for being enjoyable fun genre movies.

A fascinating recording of Cameron and Landau at a Way of Water screening, where they spend an hour talking to the audience and treat it like a focus group, asking them to honestly critique the film and tell them what they did and didn't like. Some very honest answers of what people enjoyed and didn't enjoy and what they thought the film was lacking. Cameron explains the disappearance of the Metkayina at the end battle and addresses the frame rate, the 3D, and they all discuss in-depth all the character motivations and writing process behind the characters decisions.
A fascinating insight into Cameron's process and something I haven't really heard before (an audience directly critiquing a film to the filmmaker)

That's a fun track and total in the spirit of "The Adventures of Mutt"
Yeah I can't help but hum Mutt's theme as I'm listening to it. Also some Williams Home Alone inspired by Tchaikovsky music in Kaska's Ep.1 Score.
-
Kaska's action scoring is so complex and so filled with orchestrational genius, yet it never feels overly-stuffed or too much to listen to. He has the Williams gene.

ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY KIDDING ME!?!?
I'm actually laughing whilst listening to this score because my brain can't comprehend its brilliance.
I made it 3 tracks in before having to go back and restart because it's already blowing my mind.
I watched the damn series and went crazy about the music then, but hearing it now is somehow frying my brain. It's sensational.
Oh, and also can we just scream to the heavens about how fu**ng incredible Kevin Kaska is?!

Can anyone recommend an affordable pair of headphones for a newby who knows nothing at all about headphones that just wants a much better listening experience than my £5 pair of crappy earphones?
I don't have a computer, only a samsung phone with a standard port for wired earphones. So the headphones will need to be able to connect to my samsung phone. My phone does support wireless earbuds too, so I guess it could support wireless headphones as well...but as I said, I'm basically completely useless with this stuff.
And with the release of the Orville's new score, I want to have a better listening experience.
-
Thanks. I have been wanting to buy a good pair of proper headphones because I'm missing out on so much better listening experiences. But have no idea where to start. I just want an affordable pair of headphones that will give me a better experience, but it's like learning a new language.

Larger? Yea.
Much? No, not really.Okay. Because I don't have a computer. I just use my phone to listen to things. I have very cheap, shitty wired earphones too haha. So I don't listen to things with super expensive top quality headphones. Just £5 cheap shite.
So would the sound quality really make a difference in that case?
And the website Qobuz says to listen on their app. Can I not just listen to it on my phone without downloading the app?
Sorry about my general lack of knowledge.

Never spend money on lossy files. Lossless files from Qobuz or 7Digital is the way to go.
I'm a tech moron, so I don't even know the difference.
Aren't lossless files much larger?
