Let's be real, though, how many film scores would this supposed retirement take from us?

Outside of the film world, he seems to be getting his hands busy with all these new arrangements for Anna Sophie-Mutter, etc. This is the aspect of his work that I don't see stopping, and I wouldn't be surprised to see it continue at a more or less steady pace.

I mean, I don't want him to stop writing music at all. Concert works suit me perfectly.

    Nice one!

You know, this is one of my favourites. The excitement and raw energy is palpable.

Great one. Agree with you. I've wanted the new trilogy music to be closer to the prequels. I don't say that in these first two movies the music is bad, John indeed uses a new way of discovering and continuation the Star Wars music, but in the prequels, the music is more energetic, rich of interesting and captivating musical nuances, and you can find something even in a 5 sec. section. In the new trilogy, there is a lot of good music but it's separated by long music sections that are boring(Perhaps it's the director's fault). But of course, I'm thankful to John Williams, that in such an age(also as young) he brought us and is still bringing the best music in the world and in the history of mankind.

Then you're a better fan than I am.

I'm paying 10 bucks a month for Spotify, so I'll probably not buy the CD, and won't watch the movie.

And tbh, I'm in this thread because it's probably way more entertaining than the movie could be.

Not sure why how long you've been here is relevant. It's entirely possible for you to be a jerk/troll and be here for longer than someone who isn't. And I *am* obsessed with John Williams' music. Most of us here are... And I also never said it's not stupid to lose your job over a soundtrack. Never once said that. All I pointed out is that it seems just about every comment you make here is jerky/critical.

    Bravo!

No, I agree with him. It's insane to risk your job over a movie soundtrack.

And if it's a joke? Don't believe everything you read.

Wait, I'm confused now. What part are you disappointed about? That there is no mention of score yet or that there's nothing being put out? or both?

I prefer to see JW conducting. I don't wanna know so much about peoples thoughts and don't get me wrong here, I respect others opinions but now exactly I really want to hear(not to read comments) the music and enjoy it.
