  1. For who wants to get tickets. These are my steps what I have done to get them. Of course, I am not giving any guarantees, but you can try it out. RAH has two website that look like one: The concert page itself with the link to the tickets. https://www.royalalberthall.com/tickets/events/2018/an-evening-with-john-williams-in-concert/ Your account page https://tickets.royalalberthall.com/... (this one has the queue system) What I did was logging in 45 minutes before the tickets went on sale and I entered the queue at spot 77. That counted down pretty quick and I was able to log in. Now comes the hard part: you need to keep logged in. If you don't, you have to relog and enter the queue again. I kept my connection alive by just clicking between "My Account" and "My Order History." with intervals of 20-30 seconds. Yes, I did that for 45 minutes and at 9 AM sharp I clicked the "buy tickets" on the concert pages and I could buy my tickets. Unfortunately, this new wave has the problem with priority members who can buy an hour before. The queue will probably be very long before the tickets go even on sale. Good luck ticket hunters. But sometimes it is not just luck, it can also be commitment... and a bit knowledge about websites 🙂
  2. So this movie is in the 80's, maybe we are getting a Rain Man like score?
  3. Topics like this one, made me write down my thoughts about this movie, for who is interested. https://soundtrackworld.com/2018/08/mission-impossible-fallout-lorne-balfe/
  4. I have written down my thoughts about this movie for who wants to read. https://soundtrackworld.com/2018/07/incredibles-2-michael-giacchino/
  5. The movie is not out here, so I have not seen it. But I am expecting the same thing as I had with Balfe's score for Pacific Rim. That score ruined the movie for me since I love Djawadi's score (and with that the movie) so much. I will test that theory when the movie arrives in the cinemas. IMHO, if you are not Zimmer, you should stop reproducing his creative ideas. Zimmer pulled it off brilliantly for me in Dunkirk. Awesome score for the movie, but not a pleasant stand-alone listening experience for me. With that said, I LOVE Balfe's Beyond: Two Souls score 🙂
  6. I am quite curious as well! The first one is gorgeous.
  7. I am listening to Mission Impossible: Fallout by Lorne Balfe as well. It is a waste of my time 😕
  8. Yeah, that concert was great. I was also quite impressed by the A Prussian Requiem two days before.
  9. I just returned from the MOSMA festival in Spain. It was quite magical as you can see. I think that Powell has signed around 300-400 times in about an hour. Sadly no interview though, but that was probably too much to ask 🙂
  10. I had the pleasure to attend a concert of John Powell in Hamburg. What a privilege to hear it live! https://soundtrackworld.com/2018/06/hollywood-in-hamburg-john-powell/
  11. I have seen him a couple of times over the last years and I had the same conclusion. He looks and talks better.
  12. He used EIGHT horns for Final Fantasy! That piece was just absolutely brilliant, especially the finale. I just got back from Krakow with happy memories about the Final Fantasy suite, signed CD booklets and this: I had the pleasure to talk with him for 35 minutes. Krakow was AWESOME this year!!!
  13. I have attended the Game of Thrones Live Concert Experience in Amsterdam, for those who are curious: https://soundtrackworld.com/2018/05/game-of-thrones-amsterdam/
  14. I think the 15-minute late start was common. We had the same long wait in Amsterdam. We Dutch like to be on time for everything, which is not a common trait in other places in Europe. I have been to quite some concerts over the word where they had to start late because of people still coming in. My guess is that they start late by default. I will work on my report tomorrow, but mine will take a while (two languages and proofreading) and will probably be online after the weekend.
  15. I have written a report about Star Wars: A New Hope - In Concert last week in Munich, Germany, for who is interested. https://soundtrackworld.com/2018/04/star-wars-in-concert-munich/
  16. Thank you for the kind words. The concert is not amplified?! That would be awesome. I already had the date marked on my calendar when the tickets go on sale. Someone also pointed me to a concert in New York that he will do in October: https://www.carnegiehall.org/Calendar/2018/10/29/JOE-HISAISHI-SYMPHONY-CONCERT-MUSIC-FROM-THE-STUDIO-GHIBLI-FILMS-OF-HAYAO-MIYAZAKI-0800PM
  17. Joe Hisaishi is coming to America! He will be in San Jose in May. Looks like tickets are going fast. http://soundtrackfest.com/en/news/joe-hisaishi-in-concert-in-california-may-2018/ I have written a report about the same concert in Paris for who is interested: https://soundtrackworld.com/2017/06/joe-hisaishi-symphonic-concert-paris/
  18. Sandra Tomek is doing those Zimmer concerts in Germany. I think Zimmer as a guest is more feasible.
  19. Being one person that runs a site (with help from others), I have stepped away from the award idea and called it my favorites. To me, "awards" sound very formal where a committee of judges decided who is the winner instead of one person.
