  1. This is fantastic news! I'm sure we'll hear it in the near future...modern JW concert pieces tend to be recorded, if only unofficially, in some capacity.
  2. If the rumor is true, then that's great news that they would want original music for the trailer...bodes well for how JJ will approach spotting the film (aka tracking music from the other scores versus having JW write new material)
  3. Yeah realistically I'm sure Leia and Han would divorce shortly after RotJ. I love Han, but he's an asshole, and Leia wouldn't put up with his shit. And a couple declaring their love for each other in the heat of an epic battle, when neither of them know if they will survive or not (or right after a battle, when their adrenaline is pumping) is not really a good foundation for the mundanity of a long term relationship
  4. I also just saw Gone Girl. Great film, and hte music was great.
  5. Jane eyre, witches of east wick, amazing stories, not with my wife you don't and how to steal a million
  6. This is awesome!! Checkmate is one of my favorite JW albums, so I'll definitely be getting this
  7. Yes for the one Feinstein recorded, but don't forget 'Dream Away" which Sinatra did record
  8. The DNC video is calle A Timeless Call The piece he wrote for president Obamas inauguration is Air and Simple gifts America the dream goes on is an unrelated concert piece he wrote in the 80s
  9. Almost voted for SS, but ended up switching to ESB
  10. Saw captain Phillips today...music was mostly ripped from inception and other RC scores
  11. This is a wind band, not a marching band (which is actually a very significant difference)
  12. I'm not informed enough about these to cast a vote. I do like some of the unreleased bits of Sugarland, and the bits and pieces I've heard from the other scores. The Main Titles of Daddy-O are really great.
  13. I'd rank these scores as follows: 1) Hook 2) E.T. 3) AI 4) CE3K 5) Tintin 6) Heidi
  14. I like the synth choir. Not sure why it works...maybe it's because it works well with the more contemporary, Enya style stuff?
  15. I'd rather get the music for the teaser trailer for PoA than SS. Did Williams arrange teh former?
  16. I'd of given it a 10 if it weren't for some of the stolen material. I think it's really great. Other than the Enya rips, what do people dislike about it?
  17. On one hand, it's Horner's most successful score. On the other, I've read some negative attitudes towards it from Horner fans and others. What do we think?
  18. Can we all acknowledge how awesome the last 30 seconds or so of "Jango's Escape" is? Weirdly medieval, but so great. Starting at 3:08:

Might've been Elfman's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, or maybe PotC 1.
  20. Once you get to Hogwarts, I don't think it's that scatterbrained. Certainly a variety of different styles, but Williams finds a way to mesh and unify them all really well. It's only the waltz and the Knight Bus piece that (as great as they are) feel out of place.
