  1. Yeah, I agree, there's not a wasted note within the score. From start to finish its all fantastic. And Jaws 2 is pretty damn good as well, it doesn't retread on the first film. Williams found a new direction to go in and it works very well.
  2. I would have voted for POA, which is the best Harry Potter score and film.
  3. So it looks like the Japanese release has a bonus track, which is the end credits. https://arksquare.net/detail.php?cdno=SICP-31420
  4. I'm not a musical scholar so I'll leave the technical aspects of the discussion to the experts. That being said, from a listener's standpoint, Goldsmith was on par with Williams. If I had a Mount Rushmore of film composers, Goldsmith would be second, after Johnny. He had his share of big films, granted they weren't the huge $300 Million - $500 Million that Williams had, but during his peak years there weren't as many of those as there are nowadays. It just seems at times Jerry caught some of the bad breaks or leftovers that you would have thought to be successful projects but probably came at the wrong time. Most of his action writing was second to none and I agree with Yavar, he could write some beautiful, tender, romantic music.
  5. 100 Rifles would certainly be a challenge to record. But I wouldn't mind Ransom and The Chairman getting an updated release. The rest I'm satisfied with, the original recordings are fine enough. Although I would like someone to tackle to Rambo II End Credits.
  6. One of the source cues on the podcast reminded me of Princess Leia’s theme.
  7. Back in 2012, Spectrum had 2 channels for the summer Olympics that only showed basketball and soccer. In between broadcasts each channel played a different version of Summon The Heroes on a continuous loop. The one on the basketball channel is the one referenced in the video km provided. The soccer cue appeared to be cobbled together from various takes of the theme to include a much grander, triumphant finish to Summon The Heroes. You won’t find them labeled that way. That was the generic names I gave the 2 cues when I discovered them.
  8. I love Elfman’s Batman scores but we’re talking John Williams and dinosaurs, you can’t do any better.

Horner. For all his repetition, the man knew how to milk every emotion from an orchestra and pull at your emotions. Zimmer's not even a blip on my radar.
  10. hmmm Wonder if it will be Herrmann this go around. Granted this from a year ago and could be for something else. http://talking.bernardherrmann.org/talking/view.cgi?forum=thGeneral&topic=4500
  11. I love the playfulness of the training cues and some of the suspense cues have hints of what’s to come with CE3K. I’m happy to pitch my original album.
  12. There’s always September’s flyer. And who knows what Intrada might announce.
  13. I know. 🙁 I would hazard a guess that Star Trek III will be on a LLL flyer in the coming months. 😉
  14. I will buy this for a 4th time if the sound has a noticeable improvement. I would imagine they might preserve the LP presentation for those who want it. Perhaps more alternates were found. I kinda wish they could separate “The Eels of Ceti Alpha V/Kirk in Space Shuttle”, even though they were meant to be one cue.
  15. Gojira Planet of the Apes (Goldsmith) CE3K The Day The Earth Stood Still (Herrmann) TESB Star Trek TMP ET AI Cocoon Total Recall
