  1. http://www.mugglenet.com/app/news/show/7209 Looks like it. This is out of the blue. I can't help but feel that I'm being trolled somehow. No idea how it will work but... interesting.
  2. Seemed to make sense to me to have a thread for general MCU news, rather than putting it all in Future Films thread, especially since each entry doesn't get their own thread, etc, and it's a popular film series with lots of news coming out all the time. For starters, here's a video about the various easter eggs that have been in the films This video catalogs almost every Easter egg in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
  3. I couldn't find a relevant thread with the search function (and believe me, I looked) so I'm posting this here: http://www.empireonline.com/news/feed.asp?NID=23521 If an upcoming projects thread already exists this will need moving, but if not then I guess we now have a place to discuss future movies which aren't necessarily anything to do with John Williams, Indiana Jones or Spielberg etc and all in one tidy thread.
  4. Peter Jackson comments on a movie version of The Hobbit. The short story: he doesn't expect the lawyers to work out a deal that'll let the movie be made in less than 4 years. Sounds like lawyers.
  5. I thought this would make for an interesting thread... so here it goes. What are your favorite single shots in a movie? For me, it will always be this scene from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial: The imagery of a bicycle in silhouette over the moon, accompanied in film by Williams' magnificent score, will always remain, in my opinion, the greatest single shot in cinema.
  6. Huh. http://variety.com/2014/film/news/rian-johnson-to-write-direct-next-two-films-1201226481/
  7. Some news regarding the sequel: The first Tintin has been very successful around the world. Mr. Jackson is very caught up in The Hobbit for a while. Assuming that it’s a success in America, when do you envision a sequel being able to move forward? Is it being moved forward right now? Kennedy: Oh yeah it is being moved forward, in fact Steven and I were talking about it this morning. We’re working on a script right now, we’ll see a script probably February or March. If we can do some camera capture this summer, which I think we could do, then we would be on track to have the movie either Chri
  8. Disney/Pixar To Release 10 Animated Films Through 2012 All these new movies, yet no The Incredibles 2?
  9. Phoar! Those new blu-ray thingys look really good don't they! And so cheap!
  10. Well...this stinks. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=56314 ADMIN NOTE: Click here to jump to the point in the thread where the film was confirmed. http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19778-official-indiana-jones-5-thread-spielberg-and-ford-confirmed-opening-july-19-2019/&do=findComment&comment=1232124
  11. Admin note: For earlier news before JJ Abrams was signed, see Disney buys Lucasfilm and all subsidiaries for $4.05billion, will release Star Wars Episode VII in 2015 J.J. Abrams is directing Episode VII So at least we know who's scoring it then. Karol
  12. Everytime I see one of these I laugh, I haven't seen a bad one yet. They just did Attack of the Clones, and it's pretty funny too!
  13. I figured since there's a topic about your recently purchased soundtracks why not have one for movies too? I recently bought all three Terminator films from Best Buy online using my Best Buy card. I will be getting them next week. I know I'm slow on getting them. There's a ton of films I still need to buy.
  14. ‘Alien’ Producer Drops First Details of New Ripley Film: ‘A Meditation on the Franchise’
  15. I guess I'll start one. I think it's the best "blockbuster" style movie of the year. One where you can actually take the stakes seriously and care about what happens and make you feel something coming out of the cinema. The actors are all top notch and you can see everyone gave it their all to elevate the movies It can be accused of being a " teen romance" movie not worthy of older people's attention, but the Star Wars and Indiana Jones movies also had romance as central elements of the films .Personally, I do not think Hunger Games has anything to do with the Twilight franch
  16. Absolutely hilarious movie reviews that I stumbled upon. You'd think it would be hard to sustain the humor after over an hour, but not for this guy. Check them out, unless you're turned off by profanity and, um, disturbing sequences: http://www.blancscreencinema.com/redlettermedia/phantom_menace.html'>The Phantom Menace http://www.blancscreencinema.com/redlettermedia/clones.html'>Attack of the Clones He's also done Avatar and various Star Trek films.
  17. Read here. And here is the original Variety story. I don't know... This doesn't seem like a good idea to me. However, I'm curious who might compose the score. Marc Streitenfeld? Karol
  18. Written by Rashida Jones http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=124853
  19. The year is coming to an end, but with a few movies still to come. What has everyone seen and liked a lot so far? My top three: Isle of Dogs Incredibles 2 Avengers: Infinity War Honorable mentions: A Quiet Place, Paddington 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Ready Player One
  20. Thought this would make for a fun thread, so here goes: What films have you seen that reference movies that came before them? Do you think the homage is subtle or glaringly obvious? Perhaps that overtness was part of the filmmaker’s goal. What do you think the intention of the director was in including this allusion? For example, this moment from Swedish director Victor Sjöström's Körkarlen (The Phantom Carriage)... ...is pretty clearly referenced in the climax of Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.
  21. As some can deduce from the "favourite shots" thread, I re-watched the LOTR EEs earlier this week. I'd last seen them when the Blu-rays came out, so about seven years ago. I'd been excited to finally revisit them for a while, waiting for an opportunity when I would have time to watch all three films on consecutive nights. I wasn't necessarily fully in the mood for them this week and mainly watched them now because I knew I had the time, so that may have influenced my experience a bit. Still, after such a long time, I was more ambivalent about them than I was used to. On the one han
