  1. Well...this stinks. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=56314 ADMIN NOTE: Click here to jump to the point in the thread where the film was confirmed. http://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19778-official-indiana-jones-5-thread-spielberg-and-ford-confirmed-opening-july-19-2019/&do=findComment&comment=1232124
  2. Seemed to make sense to me to have a thread for general MCU news, rather than putting it all in Future Films thread, especially since each entry doesn't get their own thread, etc, and it's a popular film series with lots of news coming out all the time. For starters, here's a video about the various easter eggs that have been in the films This video catalogs almost every Easter egg in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
  3. Welcome to the replacement for the "newer films" thread; I'll be making these one per year to discuss the films of that year; Anything older can go into the "older films" thread, unless it's a 2020 film. I don't know if any 2021 films are even out yet, but when they are out, discuss them here!
  4. I couldn't find a relevant thread with the search function (and believe me, I looked) so I'm posting this here: http://www.empireonline.com/news/feed.asp?NID=23521 If an upcoming projects thread already exists this will need moving, but if not then I guess we now have a place to discuss future movies which aren't necessarily anything to do with John Williams, Indiana Jones or Spielberg etc and all in one tidy thread.
  5. I figured since there's a topic about your recently purchased soundtracks why not have one for movies too? I recently bought all three Terminator films from Best Buy online using my Best Buy card. I will be getting them next week. I know I'm slow on getting them. There's a ton of films I still need to buy.
  6. Disney/Pixar To Release 10 Animated Films Through 2012 All these new movies, yet no The Incredibles 2?
  7. Huh. http://variety.com/2014/film/news/rian-johnson-to-write-direct-next-two-films-1201226481/
  8. I thought this would make for an interesting thread... so here it goes. What are your favorite single shots in a movie? For me, it will always be this scene from E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial: The imagery of a bicycle in silhouette over the moon, accompanied in film by Williams' magnificent score, will always remain, in my opinion, the greatest single shot in cinema.
  9. http://www.mugglenet.com/app/news/show/7209 Looks like it. This is out of the blue. I can't help but feel that I'm being trolled somehow. No idea how it will work but... interesting.
  10. Under The Skin voted best British film of the 21st century according to critics poll (60 film reviewers) https://www.nme.com/news/film/under-the-skin-voted-best-british-film-of-the-21st-century-in-critics-poll-3203579
  11. The Grudge (2020) Even die-hard J-horror fans should stay away. Despite the jump scares, fantastic cast and realistic gore, the second U.S. remake lacks any kind of tension or spooky atmosphere. Nicholas Pesce and co-writer Jeff Buhler essentially just make the victims the carrier of the Grudge (they look like refugees from 28 Days Later and The Conjuring), while dispensing with most of the uniquely Japanese elements (Kayako only appears in the beginning). He tries to do what Takashi Shimizu did with the original Japanese film (three separate storylines converging into one), but it's confusing. Even the Newton Brothers' score doesn't come close to the haunting scores Young composed for the 2004 and 2006 movies. This is a rare example where a PG-13 remake is scarier than the R-rated version.
  12. Everytime I see one of these I laugh, I haven't seen a bad one yet. They just did Attack of the Clones, and it's pretty funny too!
  13. I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but.. Can anyone recommend any drama films with Irish content, in the vein of, let's say, Angela's ashes? If it's a period film (first half of 20th century) it would be even better. The thing that interests me more is the soundtrack.
  14. Rian Johnson will direct a modern day Agathie Christie inspired murder mystery starring Daniel Craig called "Knives Out" before regrouping with Disney for his new Star Wars trilogy
  15. Here is a space to openly talk about the new James Bond movie without using spoiler blocks at all. Feel free to also share spoiler-free thoughts in the Last Film You Watched or No Time To Die hype thread if you like, for others who might be avoiding this thread entirely until after they've seen it. 16. Warner Brothers has decided to debut all their 2021 films simultaneously on HBO Max the same day they open in theaters. The Little Things (January 29, 2021) Tom & Jerry (March 5, 2021) The Many Saints of Newark (March 12, 2021) Reminiscence (April 16, 2021) Godzilla vs. Kong (May 21, 2021) The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (June 4, 2021) In the Heights (June 18, 2021) Space Jam: A New Legacy (July 16, 2021) The Suicide Squad (August 6, 2021) Dune (October 1, 2021) Elvis (November 5, 2021) King Richard (November 19, 2021) The Matrix 4 (December 22, 2021) Judas and the Black Messiah (TBA 2021) Malignant (TBA 2021) Mortal Kombat (TBA 2021) Those Who Wish Me Dead (TBA 2021) Should we expect Universal, Sony, Paramount, and Disney to follow suit?
  17. According to Latino Review's El Mayimbe on Twitter, he has the inside scoop on who will direct the long-gestating DC movie that teams up Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and Flash. It was in the works long before last year's The Avengers revitalized WB's interest in it. http://twitter.com/e...565592906727424 And before people start questioning Latino Review's scoops as legitimate or not... they've broken over a dozen news that panned out. Such as Christian Bale getting cast as Bruce Wayne/Batman in 2004, Brandon Routh as Superman in 2005, and Heath Ledger cast as the Joker on July 2006. (You'll have to Google the news items, the original links are dead.) So it'll be a director WB likes, which could be dozens.
  18. It looks like we are about to learn even more profound truths about our very existence. Karol
  19. I mentioned this over in the Skyfall review thread, but wanted to create a new thread for discussion as the film goes through production. Apparently, Mendes is 75% sure he'll return to direct, and is waiting for the final script to be turned in. Craig, Fiennes, Harris, and Wishaw are all signed on to reprise their respective roles. If Mendes returns, surely we'll get Deakins and Newman again as well. This has suddenly become one of my most anticipated films.
