Hmm....it might be possible that this film will be worse than the first one! :o

But there might be one redeeming feature, and thats Javier Navarette's score. Here's a recent interview:

Sound epic! Can't wait!

I'm glad people aren't impressed by this.

I have never seen the remake, it just looks awful.

I have the Harryhausen film on blu, mainly for the extras, it's a pretty weak film on it's own.

How did you want to balance out the score’s more classically orchestral / instrumentally ethnic possibilities with the modern musical demands of a blockbuster?

It’s been a work in progress. The sore started out more orchestral and classical and then became more loopy and programmed and “heavy” sounding.

Oh, fuck! So close!

Damn.

Not justifying it at all. Just pointing out that they aren't inventing a son he never had 4 films later.

Obviously I wish the series had stopped after 3 films like any sane person

I wish they have stopped after 2 films, the 3rd was awful, terrible villain, Sam Jack in his worst role ever, etc etc.

I love Die Hard 3! I enjoy it quite a bit more than Die Hard 2.

And we wouldn't have gotten the terrific Kamen score without it.

1 is a classic

2 is a strange entry, you can tell it was a different director. story isn't engaging and villain is forgettable

3 is very fun

4 was a piece of shit

Yeah, it's Die Hard > Die Hard 3 > Die Hard 2.

But really, only the first one is deserving of extended debate.

Die Hard 4 doesn't even fucking exist in my world.

sorry folks, it's Die Hard then Die Hard 2, then shit like Die hard 3 with a terrible villain and then worse shit like die hard 4 except timothy Olaphant is always enjoyable, he's much better than Jeromy Irons as a nazi.

Die Hard is the only one that is great, but Die Hard 2 has planes which makes it superior to boats and an F-35 attacking when they arn't in service yet. 3 and 4 without Bonnie Bedelia lack soul.

2 also has the awesome death by icicle.....ugggghhhhh.

looking forward to Frankenstein's Army

I'm sure it will be schlock but that's okay. I always love alternative WWII stories involving monsters and or aliens.

saw the latest Transformers I mean Battleship trailer. Good lord it's loud and noisy. There are no Battleships in any current navy.

I thought it was going to be a drama but now I'm surprised. It would have been interesting to see another of Burton's angles at drama. Guess we'll have to wait for another film.

If this is some sort of Burtonian horror comedy, I'm in, anyway.

The Frankenweenie film is failing so far at catching my attention. I wonder what he'll do afterwards.

Tim Burton's Dark Shadows turns out to be a comedy.

You were expecting it to be something else?

Yes. A drama.

My favorite Burton movies tend to be dramas.

Not a big fan of vampire comedies like Polanski's Dance Of The Vampires or The Adams Family.

there were vampires in the Addams family?

I know Lily was a vampire in The Munsters but I thought Morticia was just goulish.

They're creepy and they're kooky, mysterious and spooky but not vampires.

Okay, so there weren't vampires involved but it was a comedy about a creepy pale-skinned family.

Huh, that was...unexpected. The more I think about it, the less I'm liking this trailer. The film looks terribly sitcom-ey, not really in my tastes...

But, as many have said before me, I'd rather have preferred a gothic Burton drama...

For some reason that version only went up to 360p; Here's a 1080p version

Looks pretty bad IMHO

Am I the only person that is happy about the film's tone? Gothic Burton would be one too many. Good to see something a bit lighter for a change.
