DreamTheater 131
I like The Incredible Hulk a lot, Edward Norton may have been a strange choice for the green dude, but he somehow gives him enough character depth. The action scenes are awesome too.

nightscape94 965
It's a great ending for a different movie, it just doesn't seem to fit the movie that played before it. It's a bit too crazy and over the top for what is a fairy basic noir plot.
nightscape94 965
Thor: The Dark World was, what a weak sequel.Haven't seen Avengers 2 yet. When you do, severely lower your expectations. I hadn't been this disappointed in a movie since Spider-Man 3.The difference is that Spider-man 3 was a disappointment because it's a horrific train accident and a terrible film. Avengers 2, while it definitely has its faults, is certainly not a bad film.

DreamTheater 131
From where I'm sitting, Ang Lee's version is the dull one. Normally I like Ang Lee films, but this is one where his talent was wasted I felt. Give me Crouching Tiger or Life of Pi over that one.And I can't be the only one that thought Incredible Hulk was a highly enjoyable romp?

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen.Saw the first one about 2 weeks ago and enjoyed it a lot up until the final act, when it stopped telling any kind of story and was just all out action without much coherenceThis second one doesnt bother opening with any kind of story, plot or interesting set up. It begins with indecipherable action, follows that up with more action, lot's of people shouting, Shia's character acting like a dumb-ass, more action. There really isnt anything resembling a plot until 90 minutes in, when suddenly the film shoves 10 minutes of exposition through ones throat in 5...After that there's more action. Lots of new Transformers. None of them interesting, most of them in-distinctive. (this coming from a huge Transformers fan when I was a kid). Action...a sacrifice or two, more action, and suddenly it's all over...It must take more work to write a script that's this incoherent, this devoid of any direction, this empty?Michael Bay is excellent when it comes to composing shots, and this film has some breathtaking ones. But he can no longer assemble a series of shots, and make them have any semblance of meaning. There is no build up to any of the action. It begins, some heavy CGI shot happens, and then it stops. The human characters sorta worked in the first one. But not here. Sam Witwicky is a butthole now. Megan Fox is nothing but eye candy (Bay shots her with the leering persistence of a pornographer.) There;'s a new character who's so annoying that even Johnny Knoxville seems restraint. Only John Turturro rises above this mess with his dignity intact (he's quite funny at times)Of the Transformers only Peter Cullen's Optimus Prime makes any lasting impression. Optimus was always my favourite. A paragon of everything that is good and right. This is an awful, pointless and ultimately boring film. I was gonna go through the whole series. I'm not so sure now. I can't imagine the other 2 being worse though.P.S. Steve Jablonsky's score is actually quite effective. Over the top and swollen with faux heroism, but it actually works. Matt C 454
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal SkullI can't help myself, it's enjoyably bad. There are moments where Spielberg and Harrison Ford capture the magic of the earlier films (mostly the scenes with Karen Allen), but almost completely derailed by the hideously miscast Shia la Boeuf. la Boeuf can't pull off the 1950s greaser guy persona or Indy's long-lost son -- for some reason Spielberg was in love with this actor back then. And for a director who pulled off some amazing model and in-camera effects in Raiders and Temple of Doom, the overabundance of CGI sticks out -- especially the infamous 'nuke the fridge' and Shia as Tarzan scenes. I'm completely fine with the MacGuffin being an alien artifact, but it's the script and Shia that lets this film down. Williams' score helped make this disappointment more palatable though. And still better than the Star Wars prequels.

I hadn't been this disappointed in a movie since Spider-Man 3.The difference is that Spider-man 3 was a disappointment because it's a horrific train accident and a terrible film. Avengers 2, while it definitely has its faults, is certainly not a bad film. There are large chunks of Spider-Man 3 that I enjoy -- and hint at a better product had Raimi had creative control. Yes, the plot is one of the worst examples of producer meddling -- Avi Arad should've been canned after SM-3 came out. (In a parallel universe, that would've happened and Raimi would've done a better-received Spider-Man 4.) But after revisiting it, I don't think it's that bad overall.Age of Ultron fares the worst because it comes off a well-loved predecessor. And it seemed like Whedon had more creative input than Raimi ever did -- save for the clashes he had with the studio over the unnecessary Infinity Stone subplot. Whedon made a completely different film, which works in favor and against it. But unlike SM-3, the action scenes in Ultron blurs together and there's no emotional stakes. Furthermore, Whedon tries to pull off a "Buffy" S5 twist by giving Clint Barton a family and pairing up Natasha with freaking Bruce Banner. (Although to be fair, retconning Uncle Ben's death is grievous too.) It doesn't work.I know it sounds ridiculous though. For me, changing the character dynamics and bland new characters is worse than a producer lording it over a director with a proven track record of two well-loved and profitable Spider-Man films. I still enjoy ROTF, but it's the worst of the 4.I didn't think I would enjoy Age of Extinction but the totally new cast gives it some fresh air. It's just not a retread of previous films either.Jablonsky's scores have become gradually worse. The first one is a masterpiece compared to the monotonous crap that the 4th score is.BTW if you want a continuation of the Transformers sound (the first two aka the good ones), check out his video game score for Gears of War 2, it's great ! Quintus 5,399
Is Ang Lee's version being "hated" by "mainstream" viewers not just a myth anyway? I saw it one time ages ago, it was surprisingly pretty good. The desert action sequence was better done than anything I've seen in The Avengers set-pieces, I'd say. Quintus 5,399
I remember it being largely dismissed by critics at the time, which generally leads casual movie buffs to jump on the bandwagon for at least as long as something is current. Years later though, I don't think the movie is seen as being particularly uncool or anything like that. I think people appreciate it as something of a curiosity in what is now a sea of bombastic annual summer superhero movies.
Not Mr. Big 4,639
A lot of people have (incorrectly) accused it of being "boring" and "mopey". Also, some of the more odd shots of the film have gotten really popular on humor sites. I've heard rumors (from here I think) that John Williams was considering/being considered to do the movie in the early stages. Would have been pretty interesting. I'm guessing the hefty work load from 2002 is what helped stop him from taking it on.
