#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
My guess is that Craig didn't like the fact that he didn't work on anything between Skyfall and SPECTRE. SPECTRE was delayed for a year, i wonder if that cost Craig a few roles he had his eyes on?

Pieter Boelen 740
I hope they figure out a consistent tone this time. Casino Royale was dark and gritty. Consistently so, but not overbearingly. The last two were half that and half attempted to still be fun. While I consider it a noble endeavour to allow the fun to return, the tone was all over the place which I found quite jarring. Pieter Boelen 740
3 hours ago, Stefancos said: The Bond films have never been known for a consistent tone from film to film. I was referring to within the same film. Skyfall started out like a pretty good and fun Bond film for the first half. Then for all intents and purposes, the good guys had already won. Then the supposedly smart computer whiz-kid "Q" decided to plug a computer belonging to a known smart computer whiz-badguy into the entire MI6 network. Next thing, bad guy is loose again, good guys go into "serious version of Home Alone" and basically the bad guy ends up getting what he wants. So basically a super-cool character died for no good reason at all. Which is why I firmly believe Skyfall is half a good film. Then Spectre is a serious, dark and gritty film, just like the ones that came before. Except for the silly jokes and fun stuff that is thrown into the mix and that doesn't really fit with that tone. And "supposed supreme bad guy of the Daniel Craig films" is dealt with and Bond actually gets something like a "happy end" again for a while. So basically it is a "feel good movie". With a very dark and gritty tone. Doesn't mesh all that well. Since they're moving more towards actually allowing fun and some optimism in those films again, my hope is that progress will continue. But next time, maybe they should figure out the general tone they want for the film and make sure there is at least some consistency to it.... #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Moreso then offering him more then 130 million for 2 films? crumbs 14,318
I'd really like to see another film or two from Craig, but he seemed absolutely miserable promoting the last 2 films. I believe Mendes returning for Spectre was part of the reason Craig was willing to come back, so if he's done then I can't see why Craig would return.
