Popular Post Kasey Kockroach 2,344
I've been hooked on this dude lately. King Kong Lives was always my favorite Kong album to put on, but I never got the chance to further explore his filmography until a very generous friend of mine sent me a bunch of his scores recently. Namely the one presented below, Lionheart and The Deceivers. This guy's incredible! His orchestrations are always so lush and detailed and gorgeous! His handling of brass is fantastic (KKL's especially sounds beastly!), and the guy can write some darn ear-wormy main themes! His action riffs are exhilarating! I can't wait to hear some more from him upon further exploration. Particularly interested in hearing Shoot to Kill and People That Time Forgot. This one's been my very favorite so far. Naïve Old Fart 9,534
I don't love him, personally, but I've always liked his scores for GREYSTOKE, and THE FINAL COUNTDOWN.
Thor 7,508
Some of those nature documentary things have that kinda cheesy pop beat going, while other things are harshly dissonant and not readily accesible, but yes -- I've always liked a great deal of Scott's work. Like GREYSTOKE, SHOOT TO KILL, ANTONY & CLEOPATRA and others.
Romão 2,274
I'm also very fond of his score for an horrendous 20 000 Leagues Under the Sea tv movie
Kasey Kockroach 2,344
Overjoyed to find another great witch score after Witches of Eastwick! This is wicked stuff!

publicist 4,643
Kind of dig him but find him too old-fashioned for my taste. 1977 and Lewya 1

Kasey Kockroach 2,344
Pretty unfamiliar with Conti myself, but I'm open to taking a looksie at his stuff one of these days. People seem to bring up that He-Man score particularly often!
crocodile 8,017
I only really know King Kong Lives. It's good. Karol

Karol For awhile, that was the only work of his I was familiar with too. But exploring further has been surprisingly rewarding! 1977
Sir Hilary Bray 235
I fear I like him solely for Final Countdown. We had a bunch of films recorded onto VHS tapes in the 90s and Final Countdown was one we always seemed to watch (right down to the late 80s commercial breaks just about cut out of the recording). Nothing like that main theme or the music accompanying the Tomcats 'playing' with the Zeroes and then destroying them or the Laurel & Owen theme and finally, the music for when the squadron returns to the Nimitz after the storm. Dixon Hill 4,234
Yeah I like his 20k Leagues score too but as Romao said the adaptation was craptacular. Antony and Cleopatra is really nice too.
JJA 19
The Shooting Party is my favourite of his. Also love his main theme for William The Conqueror.

Anyone heard Scott's Second Jungle Book, The Deceivers or Ruby?
Kasey Kockroach 2,344
Well, go make a Conti thread then, you cunt-i! (That was probably a bit much, but the opportunity for a sort of rhyme was there and I took it)
1977 1,743
So as mentioned earlier I own Greystoke, York, Shoot to Kill, King Kong Lives as well as Winter People/Prayer For the Dying. I'm looking to expand my Scott collection but can't afford everything that's available. I plan on picking up the digital download of The Final Countdown. Which others from the JOS catalogue are recommended (let's say a max of five titles)? Ones I'm considering: Antony and Cleopatra King of the Wind Any others? Kasey Kockroach 2,344
I bought Antony and Cleopatra awhile ago. If it shows up in the mail soon, I can sell it to you once I burn myself a copy.
