SyncMan 314
It's for Marcus Mumford. https://www.cnn.com/2022/07/18/entertainment/steven-spielberg-marcus-mumford/index.html Quote Marcus Mumford has teamed up with a film legend for the music video to his powerful new single, "Cannibal." According to Mumford, lead singer of British rock band Mumford & Sons, the video was filmed on July 3 in a high school gym in New York. "I've been overwhelmed by the support of the people around me to bring this music to you, and I cannot hope to express all of my gratitude," he wrote on Instagram. "When people get it, it blows my mind. Kate and Steven just got it, and I cannot thank them enough." Spielberg, Mumford added, shot the video "in one shot, on his phone. " Spielberg's wife, actress Kate Capshaw, assisted as "the almighty dolly grip." She was also credited as a producer and art director. In one photo shared by Mumford, Capshaw is seen dragging her husband in a rolling chair. Mumford's wife, actress Carey Mulligan, was credited as the "costumer." "Cannibal" is the first single from Mumford's solo album, out September 16. Earlier this month, Mumford said he wrote the song "in January 2021, facing demons I danced with for a long time in isolation." He called the forthcoming record "dear to my heart." Disco Stu 15,495
I don't care for Mumford & Sons personally, but I did think it was cute that Willie was the one operating the "dolly" office chair for Steven.

filmmusic 1,832
Why was Spielberg needed to film this? Couldn't it be done by any other director?

crocodile 8,017
Oh nice. I really like Mumford & Sons stuff. Like one of my friends once said, they make the most uplifting depressing music. Karol

This has finally been explained; Carey Mulligan is Mumford's wife and was in touch with Spielberg through Maestro. So they just asked him to do it. Sweeping Strings 2,363
Best thing in this thread is Bryce Dallas Howard's cleavage, let's be honest.
Thor 7,508
Yes, I heard about it on the aforementiond Graham Norton show. Anyone could have shot that on their cell phone camera. But I guess that's part of the gimmick, having the greatest director of all time being the one actually using the cell phone camera. Utterly bizarre.
