TOPAZ: EXPANDED STEREO LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1635 Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection Music by Maurice Jarre Limited Edition of 2000 Units RETAIL PRICE: $21.98 STARTS SHIPPING NOV 27 Available to order now at www.lalalandrecords.com La-La Land Records and Universal Studios proudly present the eighteenth title within the acclaimed Universal Pictures Film Music Classics Collection – TOPAZ, music by Maurice Jarre (LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, DOCTOR ZHIVAGO). Remastered and expanded beyond its previous soundtrack release, and in stereo for the first time, renowned composer Maurice Jarre’s original motion picture score to TOPAZ, the 1969 big-screen dramatic thriller starring Frederick Stafford and John Veron, and directed by the legendary Alfred Hitchcock, shines brilliantly throughout this deluxe limited edition CD release. Vividly demonstrating Jarre’s remarkable versatility and invention, TOPAZ is a notable and unique work in the composer’s canon, finding the maestro experimenting with early synthesizers and colorful percussion, while also employing orchestra in expert fashion to support the film’s varied textures of drama, romance and suspense. Produced, mixed, edited and mastered by Mike Matessino, from studio vault elements, this special limited edition of 2000 units features in depth, exclusive liner notes written by author Jeff Bond and classic art direction by Jim Titus. Popular Post lairdo 726
Not at all on my list of things to expect, but so very happy to see this expanded and remastered. While the film is not one of my favorite Hitchcock's, I think the score is quite nice. I'll have to watch the new 4K Blu-ray this weekend to refresh my memory and maybe I will like the film more this time. Frenzy last year and now Topaz. Amazing. Could Torn Curtain follow in 2024? GerateWohl 4,370
As a fan and collector of Hitchcock scores I guess, I will need to get this one. But I need time to process all the stuff, that I already ordered. Don't forget, we have a 20-disk Williams set coming.

No. I have some gaps in the 60 stuff, the concert works, the songs anyway. And I haven't listened to the Jaws OST in ages (I just have it on LP and no record player anymore). And I am loking forward to experience some of the compilations like the desaster album, Olver Stone or the Indiana Jones album even though I have all the dedicated albums. I am going to enjoy that box. Once, Jurassic Shark and Andy

CatastrophicJones 18
Love the presentation, the march is so catchy! The sound quality is astounding, never did I think a score from the 60s could sound this good. Yavar Moradi
GerateWohl 4,370
At last I received my copy and I must say, I really enjoy that score. The title march doesn't do.much for me. But the rest is really beautiful. And varied. As usual, Hitchcock seems to bring out the best in his composers. JTN and Tom Guernsey
