Dean1700 4
I have found both these tracks to be great. Both are uplifting but I find I enjoy the Armageddon track more. What's everyone else's?I could only think of two tracks for this poll. I don't know if SpaceCamp has a track since it's been 20 years since I last saw the film and almost as many since I heard the music

Morlock 11
I can't remember Rabin's, but I'm sure Horner's is better. Apollo 13 happens to be the last score I listened to while cooking, and his take off and landing cues are among the best cues he's written. ymenard 54
Armageddon is still the best Rabin score imho. Even if "Media-ventured", it feels a little more authentic. Not as authentic as a HGW score, but still...SPACECAMP!
JoeinAR 1,949
Star Trek the Motion Picture,to show how bad this poll is, the put Armaggeddon on any best list is insane.
Ollie 1,059
I agree, so many left off.Bruce Broughton's launch cue from Lost In Space could have been included.Given the choices above Horner by a landslide.
ChrisAfonso 186
I voted for Horner, but I also think the Rabin cue is great.
Datameister 2,043
You also forgot "Imperial Cruiser Pursuit" from ANH. Not a stereotypical space launch cue, but it fits very well. That high sustained horn note with the triangle roll and string tremolos gets me every time. Horner's "Enterprise Clears Moorings" from Star Trek II was great, also. Technically, the ship to be launched is already in space, but that's all right.

nightscape94 965
Rabin will never be the best at anything musically, so I have to say Horner.

TheRuleOfThirds 0
Flight into Space from MoonrakerI forgot this one. I'll also add "Finale and End Title March" from the end of Superman. And maybe "Growing Up", since we could imagine that the football was kicked into space. And "Turning Back the World.""Magic Carpet Ride" in First Contact was fun. End Titles from Close Encounters tops the list easy.Dan--who thinks there's a lot more great space-entry cues than he realized.

I told you all I couldn't think of any others. I was thinking more of UPLIFTING music associated with such a launch. BurgaFlippinMan 7
if i remember correctly both these cues have a similiar twang to it, with the Rabin one more MV-ised of course. Horner gets it this time though
