"Yippe-Kay-Yay, hijo de puta" ?

Yeah that.

Nono, that's the translation in the Spanish dub.

And in the dub of the fourth film they put back all kinds of swearing.

you get it wrong then because he doesn't say SOB, he says mfer.

"Son of a bitch" is toned down. You can say "son of a bitch" in primetime television as well as afternoon soap operas in the States. "Mother fucker" is not really network TV appropriate, and the intermediate cable TV stations -- TNT, TBS, FX, USA, etc. -- often seem to play by network TV rules.

I've been years wondering... but somehow never asked

What does Motherfucker means?

Someone who fucks mothers (so he is a mega-SOB if he f****s yours)?

I dont think that (amazingly) in our swearing rich language we dont have a 'motherfucker' equivalent.

Or a motherfucker could be like the mother of all fuckers.

I actually don't know.

you guys are joking, it's plainly clear what it means. only one expression in the English language is considered worse.

If it's not 'a person who makes sex with the mother of someone as an act of offense', then i'm totally clueless.

So please, confirm, you Moth......

What is the worst offender? Just to be one word more educated :)

Tell you what, next time you're talking to someone from America (hell, make sure it's a woman) drop it in conversation and see what happens.

I used to think it meant something like "stupid".

I find it funny that several "big" insults in English happen to be only mild expressions in Spanish. And they sound bland by comparison. Yet use of such words tends to be more common in Spanish.

use of the C word is not common and if you use it to the wrong person you'll get the crap beaten out of you.

I don't know any foreign curse words except a few french, very tame stuff stuff.

Oh c**t, i think you already told me because i asked about this in the past. i just forgot since in spain is such a mild word. everyone says it.

it's usage is like a synonm of 'f**k'

F! (as in Wow!) = C!

What the F are you doing = What the C are you doing

And so on.

Big C means something annoying/bothersome.

That is my main purpose here, sometimes even 7 pages, if it is about LOTR or J. Goldsmith.

Well I think people is allowed a mistake now and then. Same with JG.

I've even come to think that of KOTCS. I accepted that I don't like it and very much happily enjoy Munich or Tintin instead for a modern Spielberg. It's like I became less of an Indy fan and more of an Spielberg fan.

Oh these. I don't care anymore. Maybe someday, someone might just remake The Phantom Menace and make a cool fantasy film. They could even use JW's wonderfully fun score for it.

They could use Desplat. I'd bet he'd write much superior Star Wars scores than Williams. He's already proven it with Harry Potter

You mean Desplat has written better scores than Angela Morley and William Ross.

Sorry for not going through the previous pages if it has been answered, but does anyone know whether the Bitish edition will be uncut?

The VHS (and from what I've read, the DVD as well) edition of Temple of Doom was censored in Great Britain: you can't see the hand plunge into the chest and take out the heart, nor the mere trail of blood on the stone crusher.

DNR?

well, you can still see the picture noise, there isn't anything heavy applied here.

But if you see the screenshot comparison between the bluray and HDTV, i think i would prefer - at least in that particular screenshot - the latter, in terms of color.

If that's real, I mean, what the hell happened?

yeah, i'm wondering that too. :(

and to think that the talks about the Raiders restoration, made it at least to me sound like the restoration of the decade!

This bluray looks so hazy in comparison with the HDTV.
