  1. Definitely hearing the similarities to Obi-Wan here, as well as that one descending phrase which could almost be from Jane Eyre. Those lush strings would get in the way of any dialogue, too, so here's hoping it's a sign of at least one scene which lets the music take centre stage. (And that it's not just the credits / a concert suite.)
  2. The opening ~15 seconds in particular, which feels like it's more a missing part from the previous cue.
  3. Apparently the original poster art is in the public domain (at least in the US). I wonder if that made doing the artwork / getting artwork approvals easier… (Or at least cheaper?)
  4. I was at the 'The Music of John Williams' live episode/concert in Perth last night, and it was great. Alongside a few of the usual favourites (and some personal favourites which I'd not heard live, like Parade of the Slave Children and the suites from Prisoner of Azkaban), there were a few interesting demos/arrangements which were a lot of fun. For example, a comparison of the Lost in Space theme and 'Into the Trap', a deconstructed medley of villain themes (Trade Federation March, the Nazi theme from Last Crusade, and 'Stick With Me' from Hook), and an arrangement called "Anakin's transformation" which started with the Lament from Episode III and made its way to the concert version of the Imperial March (via, if my ears didn't deceive me, a bit of 'Aboard the Executor', which was great to hear). And while I'd probably have preferred something like Jane Eyre over hearing the Star Wars concert suite again, it made a lot of sense for a more general audience. And there were a few things like the Amblin logo, Dreamworks logo and 'The Planet Krypton' which I weren't expecting. Definitely worth checking out.
  5. And sure enough, the "Ships on or about: 10/25/2023" is gone, with no new date in sight…
  6. And I'd finally given up and bought the digital download. (Which actually cost more than the CD, but not more than the shipping.) Still, ordered, confirmation received, exorbitant shipping to Australia and all... And I can listen to the download while I wait until October.
  7. Well, my totally subjective ones. But my love of Han Solo and the Princess and Across the Stars is much more tinted by my personal nostalgia and connection to the films, whereas I have less "baggage" with Jane Eyre, so it feels more objective to me. But they're all so brilliant there's definitely not one "right answer" as it were…
  8. 'Han Solo and the Princess' is my favourite. And there's something about the tragic nature of 'Across the Stars' that's endlessly compelling. But I suspect Jane Eyre is actually the best…
  9. YouTube playlist for places where it's out: Sounding good so far: the variations on Helena's theme seem to showcase it a bit better than just the concert versions, IMO.
  10. Looks like "Seven Years in Tibet" has also got a mysterious new "Remastered" OST: https://soundtracks.lnk.to/SevenYearsinTibetAY
  11. FYI: archive.org seems to have saved a copy of the site: https://web.archive.org/web/20191210202934/https://disneystudiosawards.com/star-wars-score.html I haven't checked all the tracks, but it has at least some of them. Edit: Looks like all the tracks are there, and they can be downloaded by adding https://web.archive.org/web/20191210202934/ to the start of the links in the first post, e.g. https://web.archive.org/web/20191210212111/https://disneystudiosawards.s3.amazonaws.com/mp3/star-wars-the-rise-of-skywalker/score/2.mp3
