  1. I think the iso was the reason most were content with the CD re-release. Even though most around here like physical CDs, a DVD rip is better than nothing. Since there's nothing like that for Indy we're getting a little more desperate...
  2. I think the trailer was being intentionally cheesy. Movie looked almost watchable but you know what direct to video sequels are like. And Drax - I like your new avatar. I hope she'll let the world know when she does have enough money.
  3. That's the one. Actually, if you consider that PJ's films are heavily scored, most of those track times are way too short.
  4. True, but when you market something as a soundtrack, it generally contains music.
  5. Can't for the life of me fathom who thought narration was a good idea. Probably the same person who though the album for Monty Python and the Holy Grail was a good idea, which doesn't contain a note of isolated music - just bit literally prised from the audio track with (I believe) a few comical bits. I don't mean to be negative - I just think music on CD should be just that - music.
  6. I came across that fake promo at least a year ago, and it was pretty clear from the one track I managed to get from soulseek that it wasn't Shore's music. I'm actually quietly confident that maybe one day soon we'll see at least some of his rejected score, given how well the CR sets have sold. I am a little mystified at how such a drastic action could take place so close to the end, and with Jackson surely given plenty of opportunities to voice his opinions during the demo stage. A pure guess would be that he heard demos, liked them, but when it came to actual scoring and it all came together, maybe he realised the music was the wrong style for the movie - and the style is very different from LotR - but it's just a guess, who knows what happened.
  7. Tie between Jurassic and Potter, but Potter just wins it. My answer would be the same if the OT were included.
  8. Indeed. Very fun when the right moment comes along. Stewie's "I am going to kick... your...ass" to Brian is a favourite to say to my brother.
  9. Hehe Joe, I know - even you have to like the show Plus the small corner of Torquay must be defended at all costs Actually, I haven't seen too much Monty Python. A lot of it is just a little too 60s/70s cheesy for me, but I've seen maybe 20 episodes and of course most of their movies. I don't watch them enough to quote though... not really.. "I'm worried about what you've got against birds!?" "Look... if we built this large wooden badger..."
  10. Don't ever, ever call Fawlty Towers crap And your original post never excluded TV I think you'll find.
  11. Not a movie. But I can recite most scripts from Fawlty Towers from memory. This is the ultimate sign that I spent far too much time watching TV as a kid. I just typed that out from memory and could go on for another dozen or so scenes
  12. Nope. My favoured composers change all the time and although that 'listening 10 times over at 3am' happens to me a lot, it's with all sorts of composers and types of scores. I consider a fanboy someone who either claims to, or actually doesn't find any faults at all with a composer or work, and believes them to be completely superior to anyone else in their field. I find irritants in all my favourite stuff, so I don't consider myself even close. I mean take LotR, which I am truly passionate about. About 90% of the music in the last score is pure scoregasm as far as I'm concerned. The other 10% maybe is a little duller - it's kind of hard to write a 4 hour score and for all of it to be flawless. I also appreciate that some people don't like it as much, and I can see why they might think that - I think that's the difference. If someone says 'well f**k you' any time you dared to point out a misplaced piano hit in their favourite score, you have yourself a fanboy.
  13. I was looking on my newsgroup reader this evening. Seems someone posted the URL below that has some samples, not sure what to think... is that the skull theme on that new keyboard thing? Hope I got your hopes up there for a nanosecond.
  14. All I ask is that he comes to London, just once. I don't care when - I'd go.
  15. Of all the scores that could be performed complete (btw, where does it say complete?), live and recorded for CD, I have to say, I think there are other scores that deserve it more. I'm sure this will be an amazing experience for those that truly enjoy this score though.
  16. Possibly SS? Hooper's work has grown on me a little, but it will never, ever beat any of Williams' efforts for me.
  17. That's just... I mean... I'm guessing that 40% of the voters are not right here.
  18. Only when it stands to personally affect them. Otherwise I just don't think they give a monkey's.
  19. I think it's the best and obviously only chance they have of finally making a great film (no, I don't think any of the previous movies have been great). Lessening the time constraints and giving the audience a bit of time to breathe in between acts I think is a good way to say the final goodbye to the series. I see the petition is on the main page... are people really taking it that seriously?
  20. Really should watch A.I. again (please no 'why waste your time' remarks)
