Both the Oboe and Harp concerti were released on BSO Classics, the Boston Symphony in-house label, though just digitally. I wouldn't call it an obscure label, even more so as many orchestras have chosen that path instead of only working with major labels. Regarding Slatkin/DSO on Naxos, they did record a few more concerti but weren't properly released. I think only the Oboe one is still available through their online video catalogue, but not through Naxos. I think both the Flute and Trumpet ones, while webcast, were never even made available as replay.

Prelude concerts are often performances with Tanglewood fellows at Ozawa Hall. Since last year, I guess they might take place at the TLI.

Williams also arranged and conducted 6 songs for Vic Damone for release on single, and not included on their album together. Of those, 4 songs were released back in 1961 in two singles. The two other ended up being released as part of Damone compilations. I know, not as interesting as if it included Williams own compositions... I'll check the details tomorrow in case you don't have those listed on your page.

Most contemporary composers have to wait way more time to have their new works recorded and released than Williams, unless they take it to themselves to have them out (like Michael Torke does with his own label).

So I would assume that while he plays a little golf, he doesn't spend much time watching sports, probably uses his non-composing time reading scores by Beethoven and Brahms.

I've had it for years... Very nice album. If memory serves, the main reason I got it some 20 years ago was because Feidman had an appearance on the original recording.

Coloured vinyl tends to be noisier.

Mine is a Debut Carbon DC with an Ortofon 2M Red. It's connected to Project's Phono Box usb V which is great to convert vinyl recording to digital.
