John Williams officially confirmed for Star Wars, Episode IX!
BuzzLightyear replied to JohnnyD's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
I think JJ Abrams hopes that, too. He will give him many opportunities to make the music shine, as he has done with his way of storytelling at TFA. I could imagine that it's important to JJ that the score for Episode IX focuses more on new themes (compared to TLJ). Because he wants to hear something new again. Don't forget he's a great John Williams Fan :) -
John Williams & the Vienna Philharmonic: January 18/19 2020
BuzzLightyear replied to Ricard's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Here is a playlist I made of the planned concerts in Vienna. Anyone who still wants to hear the cancelled concerts on Saturday and Sunday can listen to the program here: John Williams Concert with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra (spotify) I wasn't sure about some versions of the tracks. For example, the program said just "Selections from Memoirs Of A Geisha". I added Sayuri's Theme, The Chairman's Waltz and Becoming A Geisha from the Suite for Cello and Orchestra, because I love them so much. Hope you enjoy it! -

Wow!!! Incredible News!! -
Hi guys! Not sure about a existing topic of this kind. Looking at my playlist, I noticed that I have many pieces that I've been listening to over and over again for years. I was wondering which concert arrangements John Williams probably succeeded best. So what are your top 10 John Williams concert pieces? Here's my list.. 1. Flight to Neverland 2. Throne Room and Finale 3. Theme from "Jurassic Park" 4. Raiders March from "Raiders of the Lost Ark" 5. Rey's Theme 6. Marion's Theme 7. The Cowboys: Overture 8. Flying from "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" 9. Dartmoor, 1912 from "War Horse" 10. Night Journeys from "Dracula" But there are so many other great pieces I would have liked to add. Looking at this list has definitely shown what a fantastic repertoire of concert pieces John Williams has. A legacy that many filmmusic composers certainly dream of.

With these concerts I realized how great the BFG really is. I never hated it or anything. But it turned out that the BFG also became one of the highlights of the concerts for me!

What a wonderful evening! It's just a thrill to see John Williams in person conducting his great music. And I have to say, the performance of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra was such amazing. Also Richard Kaufman did a great job. Now I'm looking forward to the next concerts Great to be in Chicago these days!!
