Hi Guys, Sorry been busy this past week. Im trying to find the post on facebook. Its either been deleted or I possibly read it on some other Musicians page. But It was definitely where I read it. Let me find it and get back to you...

    UPDATE: here it is:

Michael Trig There is a full score 2 CD set For The Force Awakens coming in the first quarter of 2016. That I know for a fact. And no, I can't tell you how I know, else the person giving me that info won't tell me anymore. Now based on ONLY my opinion, I don't think there were any Expanded versions of Attack Of The Clones or Revenge Of The Sith because of the fan outcry over not liking the movies. No matter how much we soundtrack/score enthusiasts love our full score collections, some companies won't put that kind of money behind expanded releases for films that are so widely hated by the very fans that would make up their sales demographic.

Found the post: But it was posted elsewhere on Intrada Soundtrack Club facebook page. Here is the scoop: As I said it earlier its not confirmed. Since there were many postings on the cd that period of time,I thought it was Conrad Popes .But its not. Still we can ássume' if this is legitimate or not depending whose source this insider guys is?

I loved the TPM:UE.  I wish we could have something like that for the other 2 prequels, and I hope we get it for TFA.

I wonder if the current 2CD rumour is just a confusion based on the upcoming LP release - I believe there's a 2LP album coming out, right?

    But...

Even before I saw Pope's post and the comments (and this thread, which I only read just now), I've considered that a sooner rather than later expansion for TFA might be more likely than for most other JW or SW scores. Consider Giacchino's Trek scores, which have had timely expansions on Varese of all labels. In case Abrams was in any capacity involved in making this happen, he might also encourage a TFA expansion. And while I don't think there's any chance of Intrada handling this (Disney will surely want to do it on their own), their relationship with Disney and Matessino's relationship with Williams might just help making it real. (And if it does well, it might even help eventual expansions/remasters of the other 6 scores down the road).

Yes.  I hope Disney hires a producer who knows what he's doing to produce any future editions after each OST (I'm totally fine with the composer arranging each OST the way he likes)

The TPM UE was a blessing because the sound quality was so good and it had so much music that hadn't turned up in games yet.  But Lucas had edited the score in the final cut of the film so much, it was just painful to listen to in parts.

A similar release for TFA wouldn't be that painful, but of course we'd prefer them to hire a producer who will go through the untouched session tracks, and not take anything directly from the film's audio track.

As bad as the "UE" was (and boy I remember we all were so pumped to get it then threw an absolute hissy fit temper tantrum about it being almost an isolated score), it's still nowhere near as bad as... well... NOTHING. Like we got for the other two Prequels. If it not for video games, it'd be woefully pathetic. Especially Sith.

Saw the film again and this is definitely the case. After 0:45 the film cuts from Rey vs. Ren to the X-Wings and there's a piece that I couldn't put my finger to (sounds like mostly strings, kind of like Ways of the Force at 2:19 but don't know if that's actually it) and then when Poe goes into the trench the Scherzo finally comes in.

I'm pretty sure the OST Snoke is used in his second scene. If it's the same recoding on the OST, it's truncated in the film, but I definitely noticed some of that ominous chanting and more importantly the string thing that starts at 1:23 is for certain in that scene which is telling.

Don't remember for sure but I think the second scene with Snoke comes right after he and Rey have the mind duel (or whatever you want to call it). Which, yes, takes before The Bombing Run. I can't remember the complete order of scenes when it comes to the intercutting of Rey/Ren and the Resistance crew, but I think there's a good deal of unreleased stuff in that portion, between Finn and Poe, United and The Bombing Run. Han and Leia is a combination of a couple different cues - Han and Leia meet up on Takodona through Poe and Finn meet up, then Han and Leia talk about Ben which happens a good deal later. What's missing in-between is all the other stuff at the Resistance base (the map room, R2, forming the plan to attack Starkiller) and everything with Rey that in that portion (I don't know for sure how much of this stuff is actually backed with music though). After Han and Leia but before the Bombing Run is the Falcon landing on Starkiller and anything else that was scored up till the shields going down and the X-Wings arriving at Starkiller.

The Emperor's scene in Empire was athematic as well, so I suspect Snoke's theme is being held off until VIII.

I'd rather each film have a small amount of quality new themes than forcing Williams to map out an entire trilogy's worth before the first film is even released. That way he has more time to write and perfect each theme and reveal it only when the character deserves it.

Henry no, I'm not positive about "Snoke".  I am working on a revamped Complete Score Breakdown and when I get to that area of the film, I'll compare it to the OST track all over again.  I definitely remember my first pass through the film thinking the OST track matched the early Snoke scene and not the second.

As I've posted somewhere (maybe in this thread, maybe in another), its possible the OST Snoke track isn't a technical "concert arrangement" per se, but more of a "bed" of music that could be placed under any Snoke scenes (IE, perhaps the timing of the Snoke scenes weren't known during score), or perhaps its a "wild" take of a film cue that was recorded just for the album.  Or it could be an early version of a Snoke scene that got revamped later.  We don't TRULY know anything about any of the score without sheet music, its all just speculation.

Just wondering: are we positive that OST "Snoke" is a concert arrangement? I feel like it would fit Snoke's second scene pretty well in a chronological edit, even if the music doesn't quite match. Am I remembering correctly that that scene took place between "Han and Leia" and "The Bombing Run"? I know somebody (Jay?) posted a speculative complete cue list, but I can't find it

But you don't notice the edits for the most part if you listen to the OST first.

The deleted section of Rescuing Sarah is probably one of the most infamous microedits and the most coveted unreleased moment in that score.

Williams is particularly ruthless with his music when presenting on album.

It's when Williams cuts out little 4 or 5 seconds of music in random places to create a better listening experience on album. For example, in the film there might be sections of sustained strings for 10 seconds over dialogue, but this doesn't translate to album well so he just cuts sections like this in half or removes them entirely.

Unfortunately there are some egregious and infuriating examples of microedits in his OSTs that actually remove incredible cue highlights for no explicable reason (Desert Chase from Raiders, Anakin's Dark Deeds from ROTS, Rescuing Sarah from The Lost World.)

Album Track 10 ("Finn's Confession") is a little more complicated than it appears in the current incarnation of your spreadsheet. From 1:17-end actually corresponds to the FYC Track 10 ("You Got A Name?") from 0:45-end.

R2 showing the map is the first 1:10 of FYC 22 Farewell and The Trip

But there's debate if that music was intended for that scene, or intended for the scene where Rey meets BB8 and was tracked into the R2 map scene.

OK, I've put a simple comparison up in Spreadsheet form.  Note two tabs, one has color!

Hopefully at some point I'll have time to do a Detailed comparison showing where the differences are within each track, but I make no promises!

This should line everything up so you can look for the differences yourself pretty easily, though!

    YES!

    Yup, agreed.

It would have been a great opportunity to have a long action track on an JW OST again, like The Chase Through Coruscant, Star Wars and The Revenge of the Sith, T Rex Rescue and Finale, Escape from the Basket, etc.  Maybe JW doesn't like doing long action tracks anymore; He did cut down The Jungle Chase, for example.

I would love to have the scored cues for sequences not in the final film.  I think for that we'll have to wait for game rips since its very unlikely to be in a 2CD release if its not in the film...unless these sequences (like the ground assault) are in the blu ray.

Having listened to the FYC, there was really no excuse for splitting Follow Me and The Falcon on the OST.

The biggest benefit for me with the combined track is that the rebel fanfare at 2:55 no longer feels out of place and tacked on because the music continues its momentum with another quote of the fanfare at 3:19 and again at 4:11. It feels part of a single cohesive piece of music.

On the OST, that fanfare in Follow Me is at the end of the track, the cue quietens and ends, we then get Rey's concert theme, before finally returning to The Falcon to hear the payoff of the fanfare again.

Splitting them was a very bizarre choice.

    Ah.

I've actually been really enjoying listening to the score without the main title at all, honestly.  I think its pretty cool we got a clean opening for the first cue in the film via the FYC.  That's pretty rare for a SW score!

This is the simple playlist I've been doing to listen to the score.  It's the best way to get the most amount of music without having to do any in-track editing and without repeating anything.

    OST 06 Rey's Theme (3:11) OST 16 March of the Resistance (2:35) OST 17 Snoke (2:03) OST 21 Scherzo for X-Wings (2:32)
FYC 01 The Attack on the Jakku Village Part 1 (5:27) FYC 02 The Attack on the Jakku Village Part 2 (1:53) OST 02 The Scavenger (3:39) FYC 05 I Can Fly Anything (4:09) FYC 06 Finn’s Trek (1:35) FYC 07 Follow Me and The Falcon (7:09) OST 08 That Girl with the Staff (1:58) OST 09 The Rathtars! (4:05) FYC 09 Snoke (2:07) FYC 10 You Got A Name? (1:32) OST 10 Finn's Confession (2:08) OST 11 Maz's Counsel (3:07) FYC 12 The Starkiller (1:52) FYC 13 Kylo Ren Arrives at the Battle (2:15) FYC 14 The Resistance (1:35) OST 14 The Abduction (2:25) OST 15 Han and Leia (4:41) FYC 17 The Bombing Run (2:07) FYC 18 On The Inside (2:54) FYC 19 Torn Apart (4:24) OST 20 The Ways of the Force (3:15) FYC 21 The Journey Home (2:18) FYC 22 Farewell and The Trip (3:49) FYC 23 The Jedi Steps and Finale (9:58) TOTAL TIME - 1:30:43

    Some notes:
I like the concert arrangements first but you could certainly put them after instead Obviously the main title isn't here, but I don't mind.  I've been listening to that piece for 20 years and don't need to hear it everytime I listen to this score.  Obviously if you can't live without it, you can use OST track 1 instead of FYC tracks 1 and 2. For "The Way of the Force", I went with the OST version to get the great music for Rey getting the saber.  The FYC version replaces that bit with the music for the X-Wings attack, which is great but since we have similar music in the Sherzo track it was easy to keep the OST version. For "The Starkiller", "Kylo Ren Arrives At The Battle", and "Torn Apart" you could swap in the OST version if you prefer.  Each of these 3 tracks covers the same footage between FYC and OST but has some differences throughouts. For all the other tracks, I chose the one with more music.
