Unlucky Bastard 7,782
So basically, you don't like old movies because they're... old? Your loss.
robthehand 3
That's your choice. But I think you're denying yourself a lot of seriously great movies, and seriously great film music, but if that's what you want, fine.

Hitch 57
The new trailer is very good. I hope it'll be more tongue-in-cheek fare like the 60s version...well for those of us who have seen the 60s version. Woody Allen was never so entertaining. Mr. Breathmask 555
But why do you end up not seeing old movies?Because I don't want to....geez...So you'd rather watch crap lightsabers dualling in TPM (1999) as opposed to the excellent swordsmanship sans CGI 60 years earlier in THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (1939)?? That and an Oscar winning score by Erich W. Korngold to boot.I've not seen that film either. Mostly because I don't recall it ever being shown on TV. But that's not to say I don't want to.It's just that I'd rather watch other films first. I'll get around to it at some point.

pixie_twinkle 48
I have 3 or 4 thousand CDs, of which maybe 150 are Williams. I don't know it's been a while since I counted.3 or 4 thousand huh? I'd like to see a picture of those CD's. That's about a third of them. I have many more in the UK. Danielle 0
I have over 400 scores on CD and LP, about 60 of which are Williams, but about a third of those are made up of original releases which have been expanded since. About 80 Goldsmith, 70 Horner (I know, I know... there was a weird completist thing going for a while there), and the rest a pretty wide range. Marian Schedenig 8,237
Erm. Announcing? Perhaps that's what makes him so good for that particular kind of film. And even Rickman is way too over the top in that poor Costner version.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Rickman is waaay over the top, but he's at least interesting to watch. He probably realized that he was in a bad film.

pixie_twinkle 48
Damn, I thought all the porn titles were under the loose floorboard! If anyone's interested my few Williams CDs in this pic are on the middle CD shelf on the right. Only 30 or so. The rest are in Blighty. pixie_twinkle 48
I LOVE that series. It beats the crap out of Rome, which I also enjoyed. Rome looks spectacular, but in the end it's all a bit soapy. I Claudius is so very theatrical and Shakespearian! Also you get to see Patrick Stewart with HAIR!!! Hitch 57
Speaking of performances, I love Charles Laughton as Gracchus in the 1960 version of SPARTACUS. And Alan Cumming as Saturninus in Julie Taymor's 1999 movie TITUS was particularly OTT and dare I say it, camp.
