Mr. Breathmask 566
I'm still worried about The Good Dinosaur. That movie is less than four months away and it's still shrouded in mystery. Meanwhile, Disney is already starting to promote Finding Dory? Could The Good Dinosaur be a dud?

Jay 39,428
Well they announced after the blacklash they got for releasing Toy Story 3, Cars 2, and Monsters U with only one original (Brave) in between them that they'd release one original film every year, and a sequel every other year. And they tried to stick to that:Planned:2014: The Good Dinosaur (got bumped to 2015)2015: Inside Out & SEQUEL: Finding Dory (got bumped to 2016)2016: Coco (got bumped to 2017)2017: ??? (got bumped to 2018?) & SEQUEL: Toy Story 4With all the schedule shuffles, it still isn't that bad2015: Inside Out & The Good Dinosaur2016: SEQUEL Finding Dory2017: Coco & SEQUEL Toy Story 4The original still out-weight the sequels for a while longer. It's unlikely BOTH Incredibles 2 and Cars 3 will drop in the same year; Likely 2018 and 2019 will both have original movies and one of those years will also feature Incredibles 2, with Cars 3 dropping in 2020 or so.They are developing original films, they just don't release any information about them unlike their sequels, because people can get excited about them. One of them is directed by Teddy Newton and written by Derek Connelly, and another is directed by Mark Andrews and written by Brian Larsen. crumbs 14,869
Hard to believe they once had a successive run of Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, Wall-E and Up before making only their 2nd sequel. Note the last two films there were already in development when Disney bought the company; ever since? Only two original properties have been released (Brave and Inside Out) while the rest have all been sequels/prequels.Guess you can't expect anything less from the company who brought us such classics as 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch's London Adventure, Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure and Lilo & Stitch 3: Lilo's New Adventure. That's far too much adventure for my liking. Mr. Breathmask 566
It's disheartening to see this roster, for sure. But I think Pixar actually has a pretty decent track record concerning sequels so far. I've enjoyed all of them and most much more than I expected. mrbellamy 6,753
Only two original properties have been released (Brave and Inside Out) while the rest have all been sequels/prequels.To be fair, that's 2 against 3, and you're not counting The Good Dinosaur which would make it even.Though obviously the 1 original vs 4 sequels figure for the next 4 years is a lot more disheartening. RedBard 71
I can understand Dreamworks doing such a thing because that's what they've made themselves out to be.Still, in all fairness, they also strive to release original works as well (notwithstanding the bad ideas they've turned out to be.
