Wojo 2,453
I think you have to leave all thoughts that a comic book movie won't be "silly" at the door. If you want realistic comic book characters, you're very limited. Maybe the Punisher.

crocodile 8,017
Essentially a very silly movie, but one in which action is easy to follow and well staged. I didn't care for the story much (is there any real story in there?), but can recall several CG setpieces. The film makes no attempt to be taken seriously and that is quite adorable.Karol

Dixon Hill 4,234
A friend of mine is doing a complete Star Trek experience - all series and films. I'm joining him for the films and probably for TNG when he gets there because that always merits a re-watch. We've done the first three films. I haven't hated JJ's approach at all, but after revisiting these roots, I'm somewhat glad there is change coming.

Jay 37,368
Star Wars did not tell a complete story. The HeatIt was stupid. I've never liked Melissa McCarthy in anything I've seen her in (which is just this, Bridesmaids, and an episode of SNL). Why is she popular? Sandra Bullock was fine, but the movie was a waste despite a solid cast.

Although I'm tired of seeing her pull the lucrative but tired "Obnoxious vulgar fat chick" schtick myself. But she's definitely not grating in "Mike and Molly" and the final season of "Gilmore Girls" so check those out if you get the chance. She's quite charming and nice. nightscape94 965
Skyfall - I am not exactly an expert in all things Bond, but I thought this was pretty decent. Villian didn't quite stand out, the plot is a very straight forward revenge scenario, but I like Craig as Bond. I wish they would give him a bit more to do. I really liked Casino Royale. Olympus Has Fallen - Basically Die Hard in the White House. I guess I could have watched a lot of films to waste 2 hours, but this did the trick. Gerard Butler has his charms, carries a certain action charisma. The special effects seemed a bit on the cheap side.

Sharkissimo 1,973
Why, because the prologue of The Dark Knight was influenced by Heat?Nolan's cold, aloof and cynical filmmaking owes a lot to both David Fincher and Michael Mann.
