Popular Post Brundlefly 2,385
The Intrada release of The Mummy has some issues - nothing we're used to from Intrada. The mix is questionable at times, there are some disturbing noises in a few tracks, the volume difference between the complete score and the original album is conspicious and especially the replications of the film edits do neither do the listening experience a favor, nor are they necessary to satisfy the completists - a weird decision that reminds me of bootleg releases. It is, however, possible to create a completely satisfying listening experience that is complete and chronological, without any noticable volume differences or static noises. If you want to take advantage of the respectively better mix (old or new) I would recommend you to do the following: Take the original album tracks in the brackets (Taureg Attack, Night Boarders, The Caravan, Camel Race, Mumia Attack, The Mummy, The Sand Volcano) and increase their volume + 3dB with a music or video editor, like for example MAGIX Video Deluxe. The louder replicas of these tracks will replace the newly mixed tracks that have sound errors or an inferior mix. Delete the complete score tracks in the brackets (The Tauregs Attack, Night Boarders, The Caravan, Camel Race, Mumia Attack, Airplane Ride, The Mummy Attack, The Sand Volcano, End Credits) and replace them with the corresponding tracks that you just modified in volume. The two tracks Airplane Ride and End Credits do not have a corresponding track to replace them with. Now your complete score program should look as follows: Imhotep The Sarcophagus Taureg Attack (modified Decca album track) Closed Door Undiscovered Creature Off Balance A Key in the Hand The Hanging Giza Port Night Boarders (modified Decca album track) The Caravan (modified Decca album track) Camel Race (modified Decca album track) The Prep Room The Mummy Sarcophagus Mumia Attack (modified Decca album track)* A Librarian Discoveries The Plagues The Locusts Never Stop Finish the Job Regeneration Alley Attack The Flies Sleeping Evy My Favorite Plague Crowd Control Sand Storm Desert Burial Rebirth The Mummy (modified Decca album track) Escape from the Tomb The Sand Volcano (modified Decca album track) That's just my recommendation, but I prefer that assembly over the main program that Intrada provided us. Intrada is great, but this release is not necessarily that great. *If you want to keep your program complete, you have to separate "The Warden's Bag" from the complete score track "Mumia Attack" and attach it to the original album track of "Mumia Attack". Brundlefly 2,385
The complete score is really worth it, especially because of the endless amount of unreleased drop synth cues. Yavar Moradi
Kasey Kockroach 2,344
It's kind of boring though. Just a bunch of generic 'ooh-ahh' stuff. It's like King Solomon's Mines if you vacuumed out the energy. rpvee

Yavar Moradi 2,603
I think The Mummy has amazing energy and Kings Solomon’s Mines is one of my least favorite Goldsmith scores. I find it grating and obnoxious. I’ll take The Camel Race, or Night Boarders, or Tuareg Attack, *alone* over that entire score. Yavar

Yavar Yavar-y very wrong about that, there is Moradi to KSM than first meets the ears. KSM was so good, Williams decided to homage it in both The Phantom Menace, AND Last Jedi Anyways in all seriousness, in my mind, Mummy has more in common with Ghost and the Darkness, with the percussion and slower-ish tempos. Incanus 5,716
Thanks @Brundlefly for this assembly guide! And King Solomon's Mines is in my opinion quite obnoxious starting with the main theme. I know the whole it is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek but I can't stand half of it. Kasey Kockroach 2,344
Then you need to jam your tongue harder into your cheek! Though in either case, I only made the comparison as far as "Goldsmith scoring cheesy adventure movies" go. I'm probably being unfair.
Brundlefly 2,385
As I see the track list of The Lonely Guy, I start to think that Intrada's The Mummy will remain an exception regarding the lack of care. The put the songs at the beginning of the CD, because it made sense for the listening experience. Yavar Moradi
Unlucky Bastard 7,782
KSM is only grating if you have reactive tinnitus. In my case, almost all music is now grating and will probably remain so for the rest of my life. Kasey Kockroach and crocodile

Brundlefly 2,385
I added "Mumia Attack" to the tracks that you should take from the original album mix. It has some distortions and is sometimes too hot on the new version. Maybe I'm gonna write a little review of the new release's sound.
Display Name 60
This is very helpful. However, it should not be needed. The release had probably a rushed production. There is no other explanation for the sonic errors and the faults in the liner notes. It is funny that a perfect complete score program can still be created, since each time, when there is an issue with the mix or a mastering error in the main program, it's a track that can easily be replaced by one of the OST tracks.
