Quintus 5,399
http://www.bbc.com/culture/story/20191125-the-100-greatest-films-directed-by-women-poll I've only seen ten of these. I'm reminded though that Kathryn Bigelow is a bloody good director. Near Dark... I'd forgotten all about that movie. It's badass!
Popular Post Unlucky Bastard 7,782
Seen eight. But does The Matrix really count since they were blokes back then? Bespin 8,504
Wow they could find at least 100? Wait a minute, The Matrix? 🤪
Wojo 2,453
How many of these would also be on a list of 100 greatest movies of all time if you include directors who aren't ashamed of their dick?
Popular Post #SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
It is 100% impossible to have a mature discussion about female artists on JWfan. Bespin, mstrox and Marian Schedenig 2
Wojo 2,453
The list begs to not be taken seriously by including a cult action movie directed by men who, years later, decided to stuff their shirts and play dress up.
Thor 7,627
I've seen exactly half of these, i.e. 50. Many good ones here that have featured on my own top lists in recent years. And obviously many I still need to see.

Jurassic Shark 12,227
I browsed through the list and found merely six that I'm certain I've seen. That includes The Matrix.
Wojo 2,453
I've seen three plus The Matrix, which was directed by men.
Quintus 5,399
I had to google to see what you were talking about. I had no idea.
TheUlyssesian 2,478
I've seen about half but the list doesn't do women any favors. It has an outrageous recency bias. Like literally movies released a couple of months ago are on the list of the greatest movies of all time.

TheUlyssesian 2,478
That's part of the point. You have to look harder in prior decades but there are gems there. It underserves their cause to ignore their own history.
Bellosh 3,493
Looks like two from 2019 made the list, I admittedly have not seen them, or a lot on this list. But some of the comments already in this thread....yikes. JWFan can do better.
Jurassic Shark 12,227
You must be mixing up this site with that Asian JW fansite that was closed down year ago.

Gnome in Plaid 219
Two 2019 films on the list and neither of them is Clemency? Also, how is there only one von Trotta on there? There are a couple on there I would definitely not consider good movies, but they don't list Persepolis, Away from Her, or Bar Bahar? Oh well, 32/100 isn't bad I suppose. Gruesome Son of a Bitch 6,493
No, of course The Matrix doesn't count.
A24 4,364
My favorite female director is Julie Taymor whose movies have a strong visual style (Frida, Titus, Across The Universe, ...). Next year her latest movie The Glorias: A Life On The Road will be released with Alicia Vikander and Julianne Moore.
