Has the updated version of The Towering Inferno Theme been registered yet? There is a version with fixes from 3-8-18, which has a couple of changed bars towards the end.

Cool that he revised it.  I did not realize it was available for performances (but outside of HL signature editions, I have no idea how any of that works).

Towering Inferno 3-8-18 FIX

 

from the sheet music I was able to extract these edits:

 

0:00-4:34 Keith Lockhart CD

then 5 bar insert reprising the main melody - cut to 5:31 Keith Lockhart version until the end (Harp glissando and cymbal strike added at the junction).

 

Seems like a reasonable fix for a concert version, cuts out the quieter part and shortens the (in my opinion somewhat lengthy) piece.

 

I wasn't able to find any recordings of this version yet, unfortunately.

I just completed a massive update to the main post.

 

In general, this is probably the smallest "Upcoming" section that has existed since I created this thread

 

I added in links to the new Hook and Heidi/Eyre releases, and did some other cleanup in a few spots

 

But the biggest part of the update is finally making the Catalog Expansion/Premiere/Reissue section reverse-Chronological like the rest, and adding in some threads that just weren't there before.  Phew!

 

If anyone knows of any Williams releases that aren't listed there, please let me know!

And nobody said anything about any delays.  Doug simply listed composers they were working on albums for, and the two Williams mentioned have not come out yet, just like many other composers mentioned.

Since he isn't conducting I didn't think it "counted" as a Williams concert. Do people think it should?

I was thinking it should because it features him (he's talking at the event between the music) and some of his music is in the program.

If the Hollywood Bowl event is going to happen this year, when would it be announced? I have attended the last three years and plan to go annually as long as it is offered. I think tickets were available for purchase to general audiences around early May last year?
