You know what's funny?

In September 2019, Warner Brothers gave JJ Abrams $250 million to produce content for them

Here's the list of everything that's come out of that deal so far:

  1. Lovecraft Country (2020 HBO)

Yep, that's it.

Meanwhile, since that announcement, he's produced tons of stuff for other companies:

  1. Challenger: The Final Flight (2020 Netflix)
  2.  Little Voice (2020 Apple TV+)
  3. UFO (2021 Showtime)
  4.  Lisey's Story (2021 Apple TV+)
  5.  Lou (2022 Netflix)
  6. The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse (2022 Apple TV+)
  7.  Batman: The Caped Crusader (upcoming TBA [Zaslav killed it at HBO Max])
  8. Presumed Innocent (upcoming Apple TV+)

Nothing has been going well for WB for years now and this is just one of them

The funny thing is we already knows who is the murderer... and it's written on the CD!

I always wondered: why didn't he avoid spoilers in his track titles? Barbara's Confession should've been titled The Confession, and TPM's Qui-Gon's Noble End could've been A Jedi's Noble End.

That's not even counting the numerous Abrams's unmade projects at Warner Bros., like a Justice League Dark movie and a prequel or sequel or whatever to The Shining.

Of course, this is mostly due to WB changing hands several times since 2019.

These sweetheart deals are amazing to me. They're so desperate to attract talent (I use the term loosely here) that they give huge sums of money away with little guarantee of getting anything in return.

But at least J.J.'s in the biz and has a kind of track record...

What excuse was there for striking a huge content-producing deal with a couple of neophytes like the former prince Harry and his missus?

I imagine the person whose idea it was has been shown the door...
