  1. Hello There, some of you maybe know my youtube channel martyprod2 where i posted around 80 Tv pro video of john wlliams conducting all kind of stuff, including his own music (or not). Some parts of my collections come from myself, and some from someone very nice from here.. I Just started to remaster each video one by one in Full HD, Widescreen, pictures improved upscaled and cleaned, colors eventually reworked and a bit of new color gradding, and sound normalized (my hearing illness actually forbidd me to do more than that for now). I take this opportunity to post the stuff that i have in my collection and didn't posted yet, like this one, and which is the first one to be remastered. For the videos already posted, for the ones with few comments, i'll erase them and they will be replaced by their remastered version, and for the ones who have lot of comments, i'll let them online and will post the remastered version next to it. I'll post more soon, but it take a long time

Anyway, way back in the year 1977 (the same year that George Lucas' original Star Wars movie came out on 32 to 40 movie theaters and unexpectedly became the most gigantic hit of the land during the summer of 1977 and the following years), while working on the classic science fiction movie "Close Encounters of the Third Kind"... Filmmaker Steven Spielberg and his music composer John Williams had this Disney song in mind: The very sounds of Cliff "Ukulele Ike" Edwards as Jiminy Cricket singing the song "When You Wish Upon a Star" from 1940's Pinocchio and written by Ned Washington and Leigh Harline. Anyway, I don't know about you guys, but as for me... Just as both Steven Spielberg and John Williams had the Disney song "When You Wish Upon a Star" from 1940's Pinocchio in mind while working on Close Encounters of the Third Kind way back in 1977... As for myself, in more modern times like this, and I hate to be off-topic here, but while I was working on a rather whimsical idea involving three young men or brothers who flew themselves through outer space in a flying white Chevrolet Equinox car to escape the turmoil into which the planet Earth has fallen... I was looking for a song that could help connect any or all of my ideas and concepts and elements that I was trying to assemble for 14 years and counting and help meld any or all of them into a unified whole, and what I always have in mind could well be one of my favorite songs from my own childhood. And that song I'm talking about in question could be "Dreams to Dream (Tanya's Version)" as sung by The Powerpuff Girls' Blossom's original voice actress Cathy Cavadini and written by the late James Horner and Will Jennings for the rather obscure and forgotten 1991 Steven Spielberg-produced animated movie An American Tail: Fievel Goes West. You see, every time I hear Fievel's sister Tanya's version of the song "Dreams to Dream" from the movie "An American Tail: Fievel Goes West", as sung by Cathy Cavadini, I hope that everything will fall into place very soon as far as my dream epic movie project, the title of which I have yet to finalize, and especially as far as giving the epic movie or story of my dreams the hook I'm looking for. . But in addition to Tanya's version of Dreams to Dream as sung by Cathy Cavadini in the actual An American Tail: Fievel Goes West movie itself... There is also the version as sung in the end credits of that movie by Linda Ronstadt... As well as the rendition of that song as heard in the An American Tail: A Musical Adventure with Fievel and Friends companion soundtrack album that they put out around the time of Fievel Goes West's 1991 theatrical release. Beautiful song, isn't it, folks? Anyway, and I hate to be off-topic once again, but I was thinking... Not only I wanted to pretty much hang the epic film or story of my dreams on the mood that song "Dreams to Dream (Tanya's Version)" from An American Tail: Fievel Goes West created, and especially the way it affected me personally and emotionally, but if I do, say, use the actual vintage Cathy Cavadini recording of Tanya's version of the song "Dreams to Dream" from Fievel Goes West on the soundtrack during one sequence for my dream epic movie when the Chevrolet Equinox car magically flies away from Earth's atmosphere to ride towards outer space -- then in effect, [almost] similar to how John Williams' music score for Steven Spielberg's 1977 Close Encounters of the Third Kind quoted Disney's Pinocchio's When You Wish Upon A Star, my possible usage of "Dreams to Dream (Tanya's Version)" by Cathy Cavadini from An American Tail: Fievel Goes West in my dream epic film -- especially on the soundtrack during one such sequence for such a thing where the Chevrolet Equinox car (with the aforementioned three young men or brothers inside) magically flies away from Earth towards outer space -- well, all that could hopefully turn an already beautiful piece of music from some obscure and forgotten animated movie produced by Steven Spielberg at the beginning of the 1990s, ( in my case, "Dreams to Dream (Tanya's Version)" from 1991's An American Tail: Fievel Goes West) into something even more breathtakingly beautiful than what it already is, especially through a different environment like outer space. But even so, then, I will always have the song "Dreams to Dream" (especially the version sung by Cathy Cavadini as Fievel's sister Tanya Mousekewtiz) from An American Tail: Fievel Goes West in my mind not only for my dream epic film production, but also for that flying Chevrolet Equinox car space travel scene that I hope to include in my dream epic movie idea, similar to the way that Steven Spielberg and John Williams always had the Disney song "When You Wish Upon a Star" from 1940's Pinocchio in their minds while they were working on the 1977 classic sci-fi movie, Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Anyway, apologies for the long post, but the question is: What would you really think if you happen to hear the song "Dreams to Dream (Tanya's Version)" from An American Tail: Fievel Goes West playing on the soundtrack during a scene in my dream epic movie where the Chevrolet Equinox car (with three young men or brothers inside the vehicle) flies or rides through outer space on the big movie theater screen and especially with the likes of Disney/Lucasfilm's Industrial Light & Magic (or ILM for short) or someplace contributing some breathtakingly beautiful effects movie magic to such a scene as the Chevrolet Equinox car magically flying through space set to Cathy Cavadini's rendition of Tanya's version of the song Dreams to Dream from An American Tail: Fievel Goes West playing on the soundtrack? Well, wouldn't all that be breathtakingly beautiful or something else entirely if such a movie scene ever do come true? Just wondering...

His score for the film emphasizes fluid string lines and is built around a main theme for the primary character, along with a surging action motif for brass and a suspended electronic choral element. Pope composed both the electronic and the orchestral music for the film; the latter was recorded with a 52-piece orchestra. 1995’s science fiction thriller PROJECT: METALBEAST is about a group of scientists who create a super soldier by injecting the subject with the blood of a werewolf. Naturally, the experiment goes massively awry and the manufactured lycanthrope is cryogenically frozen for 20 years—after which it’s revived by the surviving member of the original project, who enhances the were-soldier with a synthetic metallic skin that makes it virtually indestructible. Thanks, Doc. Pope’s music for the film is grandly powerful, with an especially glorious finale. UNDER THE MOON was made in late 1993, but you won’t find it listed on IMDB or anywhere else, because it had a single showing and then disappeared from the face of the Earth. The film was a passion project from a group of young would-be filmmakers from El Paso and tells the (at the time) unthinkable story of a man whose girlfriend, a school teacher, breaks up with him and he becomes so enraged that he comes down to the school and shoots her in her classroom, taking some of the children hostage and ultimately making an escape in a school bus. The four film scores included on this collection all stem from 1992-95 and are the first movie scores Conrad Pope wrote. The music reflects the influence of the composers Pope orchestrated for, but they also exhibit what he could do with that inspiration when left to his own creativity. All four of the scores on this album were performed by a contracted orchestra in Salt Lake City, Utah.   6. Greetings, fellow JW fans! My name is Aaron Fullan and I'm a film composer from near the Chicago area. As you know, John Williams' 88th birthday is this weekend (February 8), so I decided to arrange a musical tribute piece in honor of this most special occasion. It's entitled "Skywalkers' Legacy | A Star Wars Symphonic Suite" and it highlights some of my favorite themes from the Star Wars saga. Much to my surprise, John Williams' go-to orchestrator (William Ross) listened to the piece last night and used words/phrases like "quite good", "wonderfully arranged", and "bravo!" in his comments about it! Needless to say, my day/week/month/year was made. I'd love to hear your honest thoughts about it if/when you have a few minutes to listen/watch it! I highly value the opinions and input of my fellow JW fans on this "labor of love." HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. With the release of The Rise of Skywalker, we finally get to hear Williams giving his final send-off to the Star Wars franchise. With it, one can't help but bring about comparisons to another composer and his send-off to another beloved space franchise. I speak, of course, of Goldsmith's Star Trek: Nemesis. While the two scores differ in that, while Williams went into TROS knowing this would be his last Star Wars score, Goldsmith did not have the same benefit of going into Nemesis knowing this would be his last say on Trek. That said, both scores I feel work well as far as providing some sort of feeling of finality to these composers and their respective journeys with these franchises that they had been a part of for decades. Listening to both scores, one can't help but feel, although perhaps imposed retroactively in the case of Nemesis, that the proverbial book is being shut by each composer. With Nemesis, we are hit with lovely numbers like this one... ...which see our emotional buttons being pressed in ways not identical but certainly not entirely dissimilar to what Williams gives us in TROS: Alongside heightened emotions, the films bring new villainous motifs to the table: Enough blabbing. Which score do you feel serves as a better send-off for the composer with their franchise?

With the release of the Rise of Skywalker OST, we have received 2 new concert suites which presumably John Williams hopes will become part of the performance repertoire as the Imperial March, the Main Title/Closing Titles, Yoda's Theme, Rey's Theme etc have become. If you had to include Rise of Skywalker in a concert, which other pieces would you put around it (and in which order) to make a nice Star Wars Symphony or tone poem - say no more than 4 in total (3 is ok too). For example: Star Wars Main Theme Rey's Theme Rise of Skywalker March of the Resistance Or: Anakin's Theme Rise of Skywalker Yoda and the Force Rey's Theme
  15. What's your favourite Sequel Trilogy action setpiece? There were more for each score, I Can Fly Anything, The Battle of Crait, Battle of the Resistance etc. However these are three I've chosen for this poll - one from each film. The Speeder Chase is my new favourite of the trilogy, it's energetic and vibrant, has a punch to it that makes it at once fresh and yet harkens back to the Williams of yore, not to mention the main motif which evokes memories of RotJ's escape from Jabba's barge.

  19. Even if you’re not synesthetic, this might be fun to try for you. What textures/feelings/colors/sensations does each score, in its totality, evoke in you? Here’s the sensation each album in its totality evokes in me: 1. Star Wars (1977) - A grey dilapidated, rusty, dirty and old, very old world. 2. Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back (1980) - A wet...grimy brown and rusty disgusting sewer...the kind you walk through with puddles and condensation on the walls. 3. Star Wars Return of the Jedi (1981) - A dense northern forest 4. Star Wars The Phantom Menace (1999) - Marble halls, huge columns, the Roman Empire and its bureacracy 5. Star Wars Attack of the Clones (2002) - A summer’s eve, just after a storm, and just before sunset when the sky is big...filled with puffy clouds turning more orange. 6. Star Wars Revenge of the Sith (2005) - World War I trenches and battles in the old fancy marble buildings and cities. 7. Star Wars The Force Awakens (2015) - The Old American West, Railroad tracks and old trains, The Grand Canyon 8. Star Wars The Last Jedi (2017) - Kids playing war in the backyard on the first nice day of summer. 9. Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker (2019) - A North African desert at noon, the inside of an Egyptian pyramid.

  21. I put it on repeat most of the day .At least 15-20 times by now. I love this, it's kind of a mix of theme from Jurassic Park with Harry Potter Might end up one of my favorite concert versions ever and one of his most beautiful.
