Popular Post pete 907
This was a total surprise. I was at the offices of The Korea Times in Seoul earlier today doing some research into the 1969 hijacking of an airliner by North Korea (that's one of the articles I photographed) and also some violence committed in 1999 by one of the many cults Korea has produced when I stumbled upon a Williams article about his work on The Phantom Menace. Interestingly, he mentions Princess Leia's Theme, but it sounds like he just meant that some of his original trilogy themes make brief appearances and not Princess Leia's Theme per se - "Princess Leia's Theme or whatever". Yoda's Theme and an obvious quote of Darth Vader's Theme do make the briefest of appearances in "The Queen Confers" just before the end. But is it possible there is also a brief Princess Leia quote in the unreleased/unused material? Perhaps in reference to her mother? Probably not... It's an AP article, so it's probably been seen already by some here, but here it is again.... 1999, when Williams was 66 and still very much a youngling. aviazn 273
Some good judgement from the folks at the KT back then!
Chen G. 3,949
He's just misremembering or mixing up the themes of the original trilogy when he brings up Leia's. Its not really quoted in the film. Otherwise, nothing new here.

crumbs 14,317
They did record part of her concert suite for an early version of the credits didn't they? Wasn't something found in the video game music? Not used in the movie obviously but perhaps recorded as an option for Lucas.

I had no idea if this is true but I'm very intrigued. Can't imagine why it would have been used, though.
crumbs 14,317
Might have been recorded as a rehearsal on day one, just to get the orchestra in the right mode?
Unlucky Bastard 7,782
We're headed closer to the 20th anniversary of TPM. Any chance of a cinematic re-release with newly enhanced visual effects, THX and digital sound? Gruesome Son of a Bitch

Smeltington 1,440
And the Bluray had Yoda replaced with CG Yoda, but there are still a lot more characters left who could be replaced with CG. So there's still room for improvement.
Holko 9,526
That's one of the few changes I wholeheartedly support. Normally I always say practical is better, but that puppet barely looked like it was the same species as Yoda (how did they even take that thing on stage without anyone saying anything?), and it helps the continuity between the PT.
