John McClane 1 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I'm back from the crypt only for few days, then I'll disappear again, don't worry. BTW, I wish I could have the DCC expanded release of Raiders of the Lost Ark, but it's out of print and very rare. It sucks to see a only 10 years old release being already OOP and extremely rare to find.Even Colony, in Times Square (where I bought Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom) didn't have it. Duh.
Mr. Breathmask 624 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 A friend of mine picked it up last year for a mere 25 Euros in a store in Germany, where it was just sitting on the shelve. He was unaware of its rarity at the time. When he told me he got Raiders I went through the roof. Then he said he was a bit disappointed with the music, but by then, my enthusiasm had spoiled my attempts to take it off his hands. Not even offering a tenner helped by that time. Bummer.- Marc, who sure would like an original Raiders.

LOL If he really was a bit disappointed with the music, why just doesn't sell it (to you) and be satisfied with a CD-R? Menace him, bro! I'm sure he's less JW fan than you so he doesn't deserve such a treasure!

Ray Barnsbury 8 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 I just completely forgot to add The Witches of Eastwick OST....that was an exciting e-bay win.Ray Barnsbury - who competed with another bidder as the seconds ticked away...and won

Maybe the thread was about the original CDs?
nightscape94 968 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 When's the last time any thread stayed on topic for more then 5 posts? Anyway, an album is simply a collection of recordings or pictures in a single unit (disc, book, vynl..etc). So technically a bootleg is still considered an album. Tim
John McClane 1 Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 So technically a bootleg is still considered an album. Â If so, my John Williams' collection is 90% complete, as I own pretty much every expanded/complete bootleg release. o_O
pixie_twinkle 60 Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 Spacecamp (Japanese CD)The Witches of Eastwick (Warner CD)Diamond Head (vinyl)Checkmate (vinyl)Not With My Wife You Don't (vinyl)I have all the FSM and Varese special releases too. I'm not as proud of them however as they were not difficult to find. You just need to buy them within the first month or so of release. It amazes me that people procrastonated when Towering Inferno was on sale at FSM for about 6 months for 25 bucks. But the second FSM sold out people started rushing to bid for it on ebay and pay 100 bucks!
Josh500 1,620 Posted November 11, 2005 Author Posted November 11, 2005 I have about 65 John Williams CDs at home, but God, I wish I had them all!!! Does anyone know -- who owns the most JW CDs (not including bootlegs) here??? And how DO you get bootlegs, by the way???
John McClane 1 Posted November 11, 2005 Posted November 11, 2005 I think ChrisCrusherComix and Miguel Andrade has the biggest collection. As for bootlegs, the most commonly given answer is: p2p softwares, with eMule being the most used. You can really find a lot of stuff there (althought on SoulSeek I've found a lot of stuff that weren't on eMule - in fact I heard that that are a few softwares better than the mule speaking of availability of scores).
