Jay 46,245 Posted March 25, 2016 Posted March 25, 2016 First clues for Tuesday's titles: One features a score from the mid-90s. It had a 35 minute album at the time, now we've added another 30 minutes by a major composer. Not sure how to describe the film -- is it a drama? sci-fi? a mystical beast that defies description? The second is vinyl issue of a previous releases probably not of interest to this audience! http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7044
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 An expansion of an old Varese release, perhaps? Weren't they king of the 30 minute albums in the 90s?
Jay 46,245 Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 People in both the Intrada and FSM boards are saying it's probably Goldsmith's Powder, based on Roger's description of the film and the fact that they expanded the other two Hollywood Records OSTs by Jerry (Deep Rising and The Ghost and the Darkness)

I got very, very excited when I first read the clue, however I then remembered the perpetuity thing. Plus, adding 30 minutes to a 35 minute album is a relatively short score. I think most of the exciting stuff from that period is at least 90 minutes. Someone on FSM suggested Sphere, but again, the whole score is way longer than that.

Koray Savas 2,260 Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Intrada is having a 25% off sale running through April 26, excluding Powder and all LP releases.
Incanus 5,891 Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 It's a good thing I ordered from them 3 days ago then!
Koray Savas 2,260 Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Forgot to mention that the code is 25OFF, during checkout. I know the feeling, Incancus! I was tempted to pick up a lot of older stuff I skipped, but kept to just The Lone Ranger and Edward Scissorhands.
Jay 46,245 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 First clues are up for Tuesday's new titles Quote One is a 2-CD featuring a completely restored and expanded version of an RCA release from the 60s. Fits in line with a couple of other titles we've done recently. The second is a thriller from the mid 00s. 50 minutes of music recorded for the film, only 15 used in the film and 8 on the song album. Now you get the whole thing. http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=7067
Jay 46,245 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 The 60s title sounds like a another Otto Preminger film The 00s title sounds like JNH's Collateral!
mstrox 7,348 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 More interested in the second release. Doesn't appear to line up with any of my precious missing Elfmans, but it may be in my wheelhouse anyway.
A. A. Ron 2,485 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Sigh, sounds like no Ten Commandments for Passover then. I guess there's still the rest of the year for the 60th anniversary.
Jay 46,245 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Yea I wonder what type of problems that is having with getting finished and approved and released. They mentioned publicly they were working on it what, 3 years ago? Plus who knows how long before then they started. Damn!

Koray Savas 2,260 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Chinatown (Expanded) and Homeward Bound II: Lost In San Francisco are Intrada's new titles this week.
Xander Harris 9,677 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Finally, the Homeward Bound II score gets the royal treatment!
publicist 4,650 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 The score is great - in the movie. I had the old Varése from the 90's and apart from a few minutes or so, why would anyone like to listen to it?

Jill Sandwich 11,171 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Will this new Chinatown have more dynamic range than the recent Varese?
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted May 17, 2016 Posted May 17, 2016 Thats just marketing! Will it have more loudness?
Jay 46,245 Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 This week's titles are: Miklos Rozsa - Five Graves to Cairo / So Proudly We Hail! / The Hour Before the Dawn / The Man in Half Moon Street / The Woman of the Town Richard Band / Mark Ryder / Phil Davies - Trancers / Trancers II / Trancers III The latest titles going Out Of Print (on June 6th) are Bruce Broughton - The Thanksgiving Promise Jerry Goldsmith - Deep Rising
crocodile 9,724 Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 So it looks like The Monkey King 2 is coming out next week? Karol
Jay 46,245 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Intrada's latest title is: Pino Donaggio - Dressed To Kill (Remastered) Going Out Of Print on August 29th are Lalo Schifrin - Joe Kidd Jerry Goldsmith - Night Crossing
Jay 46,245 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Latest Intrada titles going out of print (on September 12th) Jerry Goldsmith - Congo Dominic Frontiere - The Aviator
Jay 46,245 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Yea, I like it too. Shame they can't keep it in print longer.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 It's ok. Mid-level Goldsmith.
#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 12,392 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 The score? It really isnt. It's on the level of Executive Decision, Insurrection etc
Romão 2,473 Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 It's a good score, but I think the ost is enough for me
