  1. I wanted to check the composer of the upcoming Megalopolis, so I listened to this: A couple of interesting choral cues, some source-sounding cues with accordion and guitar as main instruments, but generally I didn't find something that resonated with me.
  2. One genre I still can't connect to, is silent films! I even sold my Metropolis superb looking steelbook! Kudos for you!
  3. This surely looks impressive! Maybe I'll break again my not-watching-current-films rule! (the other film I might watch too is Costner's new epic). Does anyone know the composers (Osvaldo Golijov & Grace VanderWaal) ? Have they done anything good in the past? I wonder why Coppola didn't go the more famous composer route. He must know something that we don't.
  4. from the guys that voted one score, we have so far: 4 votes: Empire Strikes Back 2 votes: Superman Angela's Ashes 1 vote: Raiders of the Lost Ark Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny Close Encounters of the Third kind
  5. Huh? You can't pick an Oscar winner. Only from the nominees that didn't win. Or did you have in mind one of the other Star Wars scores? what score is this??
  6. Well, to qualify for a theme for the main villain, I would expect something to appear more than once. And not that late in the picture. No, I don't consider it Joker's theme.
  7. Hehe, without knowing it, the thought process seems was the same for me. https://www.jwfan.com/forums/index.php?/topic/35540-2023-john-williams-official-top-10-film-scores-your-individual-lists/&do=findComment&comment=1976674 I would love also if it was nominated because it deserved it, but I think that we were fortunate that it wasn't, because if it was the votes would divide among this and Schindler's list, and Williams wouldn't win! At least, I think it would be that way.
  8. I tried to start a poll about this, but unfortunately it doesn't accept more than 25 possible answers! It would be great to see in percentages which score(s) would lead. So, out of all the Academy Award nominees of Williams (not including his winning scores, or songs, or score adaptations), what is your single favorite one? I know it's hard, but please pick one! Here is the list: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002354/awards/?ref_=nm_awd For me: If Hook was one of them, I'd pick that one. Unfortunately, it isn't. I was between Superman and Empire Strikes back, and I eventually picked Superman! It has a great main theme, and I love all the music leading up to the Fortress of solitude. I don't know the score so much after that, except the flying sequence which I also love of course.
  9. 2 note? Maybe you mean the 8 note ostinato that opens the track? I like that!
  10. I haven't listened to this score, and I just checked the Quartet release! Great track list in cd 1!!
  11. Yeah, I had pinpointed that.. * * * Ok, I'll play along naming 4 cues/moments from Batman that don't contain the theme (at least the default version of it, because as I've said the score is a monothematic one mainly and the theme is all over the place). Shootout, Descent into mystery, Dream, Tender Batcave. I have to say though, the theme/cue I don't like from this score is Waltz to the Death. And I hoped Joker had his own theme.
  12. Yeah, still doesn't resonate with me. Oh well, that's ok.
  13. If I tell you for example I love his Descent into Mystery track, that also includes a variation of the Batman theme.. So, that counts as a non-thematic cue or not? Better tell me the timecodes of the theme in the main titles track!
  14. Still, I am not able to pinpoint exactly what is the Spiderman theme. I mean, it feels like it's all over the place, without having an exact beginning and an end.
