I couldn’t stop laughing at those scenes because Bryce Dallas Howard’s Yaddle sounds like Backstroke of the West Yoda (10:30):

No, but the Baby Ahsoka episode is utterly pointless as we learn literally nothing new about the character. It’s also very dubious that even a toddler that’s force sensitive could just tame a giant savage beast to the point it is able to ride it home

This whole series would’ve been vastly improved imo if it had focused entirely on Dooku’s journey from Jedi to Sith as that was easily the strongest material here

I'll wait for the YouTube compilation of the Yaddle scenes and watch that.

I liked the album well enough and think that Brittell’s score fits the series like a glove.  There are pieces I’m really looking forward to on the next volume, especially from episodes 6 and 7.

Also loving that they’re not aiming for the Star Wars sound, because what people really mean is the Williams sound - and that just leads to dreadful Haab-style stuff.  Not to mention, Williams significantly altered or expanded what “the Star Wars sound” meant eight times, with every subsequent score starting in 1980.  Asking a different composer to come in and ape Williams is a much different matter - significantly narrowing their toolkit when Williams (with his own toolkit) broadened and broadened.

I think, you underestimate classical Star Wars scores and what a John Williams could do to the show to make it feel like Star Wars. Someone mentioned Minority Report as a template, which is a good idea.

I understand, what Britell is trying to do there. But it doesn't work for me.

I think, the situation here is far different from the movies. While Williams said for the movies, he tried to create some familiarity for these other-worldly images here the situation is the opposite. The images, the plot, the dialogues are so earthly that the music would have the job to create some out-of-this-world feeling like Goldsmith did in Planet of the Apes. But Britell's score does neither that nor does it spread the fairytale fairy dust on the images like Williams it. In oposite, I am afraid, it even empowers the feeling, that we are looking at a very earthly setting, which rather gives it a fan film touch. Luckily apart from the music the show is well produced, so it still works. But the music is just there to fulfill the minimum requirement of a dramtizing score. Quite unworthy for a Star Wars score in my view.
The best thing that can be said about this score is, that it is not disturbing the action on screen.

Well, now I am going to be paying much more attention to old men's balls to see if this critique has merit.

Even with a lot of the terrible editing in the ST, I think "The Conveyor Belt" still takes the cake as the worst-edited musical sequence in a John Williams score.

I think for me the one edit that makes the most sense was replacing part of "The Probe Scanner" with "The Imperial March", and by extent probably the omission of the first half of the cue, as much as I love it on its own.

I was going to say the same thing as JTWFan77 a few days ago, but then came to the same conclusion. As much as I don't care about this music, there are people out there somewhere who do. And more so than that, I'm glad that they're consistently releasing music now for basically every medium, that's a very good thing.

I'd rather see music released than not released, even if you don't personally enjoy it there's probably someone somewhere who does

I have the inserts on my channel and they're not causing any issues either. So I do believe length is the only factor here.
