I went to listen to the Wharfedale Linton 85th Anniversary speakers and ordered them! Very articulate, controlled bass and good mids. The treble is probably the least refined and is therefore more reminiscent of speakers of the '70s. But I really liked what I heard. I compared them with one of the most popular and celebrated speakers of the last decade (KEF LS50) and I preferred the Lintons hands down. The KEF LS50 speakers are surprising small and that's how they sound: small with a small soundstage. The Lintons will be able to fill the room. They can also play loud without being fatiguing. 
 

 
Remember when shops had items in stock? Sigh, those were the days ... Now I have to wait at least a week.
 
I also ordered the optional matching stands (so I can store my vinyl in there).

Abrams is one of the worst directors ever. Not only a bad director in every way (The Rise Of Skywalker is easily the worst Star Wars movie in history and his clumsy direction and filming has got a lot to do with that), but he has no artistic personality none whatsoever.

I don't think I used Dolby. I do remember that my last deck had DBX (another type of noise reduction system) which I liked.  My Tascam Portastudio 244 also worked with DBX. 
 

Maybe Ben-Hur's old-timey feel might have more to do with the acting, blocking and shot choices, all of which remain very rooted in the theater, while the others, 2001 especially, more fully embrace conventions and possibilities that are uniquely cinematic.
