crumbs 14,318
Quote This is all set to what is said to be John Williams’ final score before retirement, which frankly stands as one of the most elating scores of his late career. https://discussingfilm.net/2023/05/20/indiana-jones-and-the-dial-of-destiny-review-harrison-fords-swan-song/ Plus fresh reactions after the LA premiere. Lots of praise for the score, but reaction to the film itself remains mixed. #IndianaJones and the Dial of Destiny is an overlong dip into nostalgia that doesn’t quite grip onto why we fell in love with this world to begin with. John Williams’ score is a delightful throwback, but this adventure has nowhere particularly exciting to go. A letdown. pic.twitter.com/6jisRbD42Q — Jeff Nelson (@SirJeffNelson) June 15, 2023 Spoiler-free review which highlights PWD, Mikkelsen and John Williams' score as highlights. crumbs 14,318
Quote "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is old school fun. It’s silly and cooky in the best way. The score is phenomenal. I was drooling for the production design. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, you absolute icon. I damn sure wish my dad was still around to see this." - Josie Melendez (Film Posers, Rotten Tomatoes-Certified Critic) Quote "Die hard Indiana Jones fans will love #DialofDestiny The action, adventure & John Willians score will remind you of the Indy of the 80s and 90s. Sadly, so will the script." - Karama Horne (Rotten Tomatoes-Certified Critic) Cerebral Cortex and JoeinAR 1

Popular Post Richard Penna 3,694
Critics remarking that the score is phenomenal probably means it's loud and noticeable in prominent bits. Or maybe they noticed a particularly good Raiders quote at a heroic moment. Hopefully it means there are plenty of sequences where it's front and centre in terms of creative focus. Popular Post Pieter Boelen 740
The reviews were right to mention the score so often. It's really a return back to an earlier age. Pieter Boelen 740
I haven't read it, but the title alone already thanks the Williams: https://www.koimoi.com/reviews/hollywood-movie-reviews/indiana-jones-and-the-dial-of-destiny-movie-review-the-fedora-whip-john-williams-score-does-more-for-the-harrison-fords-swansong-than-its-story-screenplay/
