Kendal_Ozzel 36
I was just looking over Sam Raimi's credits at the IMDb to see what other composers he's worked with. One of them was Alan Silvestri. Hmmm.....
ridan 0
Silvestri and Spider-man might make an interesting conversation.
David Coscina 3
Yup. Silvestri would I think. Or Chris Young.
nightscape94 965
I don't blame Elfman on this one after what happened to his score for the 2nd one.Tim

nightscape94 965
Chris Young would be the obvious choice, only because he was involved with the second movie. Unfortunately, his music was not included on the CD release...Tim, who didn't buy the Elfman score anyway.

Justin 2
As much as I respect Elfman's work, I can't say I'm very disapointed by this news. I've never been a huge fan of either Spider-Man scores.Justin - Who thinks Silvestri would be awesome.
Elmo Lewis 6
Steef, maybe.I could Horner Steef, but I'd be dead before I quote Star Trek. Which is basically the core of his post count.

Kevin McCallister 0
Ender, my reaction to this news was identical to your own. Still, it's understanable, considering how badly Danny's score for SM2 was treated in the film. However, seeing as Silvestri is probably my favorite composer, I would not be at all against him being brought in. A lot of those guys are so full of crap; they really need stronger regulations there if they're aloud to write stuff like that.(This post will probably end up in its own thread over there being made fun of.)Oh, and nice post, Joe, even though it was really nasty. ~Sturgis

Delorean90 42
  As ticked as this made me (I heard rumors of this before and hoped they weren't true), the only problem I would have with Silvestri doing it is the fact that he isn't Elfman. The question is, will they (and should they) keep musical continuity at all with Elfman's themes, etc.?
Kevin McCallister 0
Well, when Silvestri did the Mummy Returns, did he remain loyal to any of Goldsmith's material from the first film?

#SnowyVernalSpringsEternal 10,265
Nor was there really any reason too.Silvestri's own themes for that score are outstanding.
gkgyver 1,645
Why exactly did Elfman leave Spidey?
Richard Penna 3,689
Well I heard the score for Spidey 2 was 'Lucas'd' as the movie was re-edited and also that there were possibly some creative differences.I'm far from an Elfman fan though so I'm positive someone else knows more than me
Trent B 337
Nor was there really any reason too.Silvestri's own themes for that score are outstanding. That is true, but it could have been a whole lot better if he had re-used Goldsmith's Rick and Evelyn's theme as well as the Mummy theme..just for continuity purposes...I suppose... gkgyver 1,645
Latest thing I've heard is that they're aiming for six Spidey films. Whether it's with the same cast & crew, that's a completely different question.
TheRuleOfThirds 0
I could handle Spiderman 3, but I'm not sure about 4-6. After Star Wars, Indy, Back to the Future, and writing my own stuff in the three-act structure...I'm kinda getting used to trilogies.
