I think Horner has overtaken Williams in the that department.

Track 10 of the TITANIC cd.

LOL

That muSt have come as a shock for the unfortunate CD buyers before the movie was released:"WHAT!? TITANIC IS GOING TO DIE IN THE MOVIE! OH MAN HORNER HAS SPOILED IT FOR ME! TITANIC DIES! I NEVER BUY ANOTHER SOUNDTRACK AGAIN!

:|:P

Don't you think that track titles should at least be catchy? When a customer hunts his way through dozens of Soundtacks at his local store, I'm sure a title like "Harry Sees Dragons" doesn't make that much of an impression. A title has to reflect the power of the music it describes. Harry's Wondrous World, A Window To The Past, Double Trouble ... if track titles didn't matter, we could just name them ... well, the way GoF does.

1. The Movie Opens

2. We've Got A Little Prologue

3. The Goblet Of Fire

5. Harry Sees The Dragons

6. The First Task Begins

...

11. Harry Wanders Through "The Maze"

12. Voldemort Appears

13. He Kills Cedric

14. Hogwarts Sings A Lament For Him

As bad as those spoilers might be Williams still has the # 1 worst spoiler title in history.

Track 13 of the Presumed Innocent CD.

That's pretty much up there with Emperor's Death from ROTJ and Qui Gon's Noble End:) Williams has a knack for such flubs.

I do not mean the names have to be blantantly stupid, lame or boring. I mean that you can name a scene so many ways. I like imaginative track titles as long as they do not sink into obscurity trying to hide what the scene is about. Williams' style to label things with names like Werewolf scene or Bedroom Scene is pretty unimaginative. But there should be a balance what does the track title give away and what it hides. No need for such titles as Qui Gon's Noble End or as obscure as And That Right Soon (from Shawshank Redemtion).

After watching the movies(usually several times)makes the obscure cue names apparent (as in Shawshank Redemption) but even before that I would like to have a little inkling where the cue fits in the score.

Balance it the key.

And interesting cue titles are good.

And nobody labels thigns "He Kills Cedric" or "We've got a little prologue" How's that for banal and obscure track titles. :|

It's worse.

With ROTJ you can pretty much figure the bad guy will die at the end.

Same for Qui-Gon.

But Presumed Innocent is a whodunnit.

Well that's true. The CD has many bad track titles (apt but lame) like the Bedroom scene etc.

Add the last track of JNH's Sixth Sense to that list. I saw it before seeing the film, but luckily got too engrossed in the movie to remember it 8O

Who care about the spoilers. There only spoilers for the .01%of people that don't read the book and only see the films.

K.MWho cares more about the new RotS music right now than the Potter track titles.

That statistic comes from where?

LOL LOL

Now these are proper track titles! :) Descriptive and clear. :)

I only wish Williams had stuck with these. He is some times so easy to manipulate and he obviously had to give in to some WB marketing executives. I hope he put up a good fight for these titles:)

We ought to have an official thread for altered JW tracklists.

Justin - Who may start one....if he deems that there is enough interest....

I suppose the same can be said about the music used in "Anakin's bed twisting" sequence in ATTACK OF THE CLONES. LOL

HE DIES?????

Just about as devastating as the facts that Titanic dies in Titanic (The Death of Titanic). Horner really spoiled that one for me  I was distraught for days after reading the CD back cover. :)

This "game" should be a thread of it's own, it's pretty fun.  Do it, Justin.  Do it, or I will!!!

Ray Barnsbury

Some should do it. Why not you? This is fun diversion from all the "high brow conversation" on the list.

 Jerry Goldsmith First Knight Complete score (Gauntlet IV, Recording session sounds are interesting. Percussionist got so worked up he shouts in the end of the track "You bet your ass!". Distracting but hilarious. I have to edit it out though before I make a CDR LOL )

I was hoping to see this on the CD cover:

Track 13 of the Presumed Innocent CD.

Yeah, pretty bad. Man, that's a pet peeve of mine. I got The Village score WAY before I saw the movie, and of course, one of the track titles is "It Is Not Real". For an M. Night movie you'd think they wouldn't give it away on the album, huh? :?

Those track titles are really uninspired. I mean Track 19, come on! Sure most people have read the book, but still... If I was JKR, I'd be pissed about that.

Cover is fine, but I think that is fan art looking at the "Music by Patrick Doyle" part. It looks slightly...different than the other text.

And funny "game" there. Ya'll are pretty creative! :music:

Greta - who rather likes HPFAN 2's sig, hmm, I guess Harry is old enough now to own wood...

Honestly, I don't care much about the track titles because I get the soundtrack AFTER knowing the plot, which is after watching the movie or after reading the book it's taken from. I care more about the amount of music a CD contains. I just hope GOF album won't contain all 2-minute-long tracks...

I agree. I hope it has over an hour of music not including the 3 songs at the end.
