Josh500 1,615
I have an idea the entire movie of CoS was temp tracked with the score of PS! Will and TheUlyssesian

I see it differently. It was a blessing JW did CoS! That year, JW scored AotC, MR, and CMIYC! He could have easily declined working on CoS, but he didn't. He gave us all these awesome new themes and cues! Pieter Boelen, igger6 and Will

Josh500 1,615
And if JW hadn't done CoS, it's highly doubtful he'd returned for PoA! Will and TheUlyssesian

Thor 7,504
Who says there was a temp track? It's the only truly good track in that score, IMO, firmly molded in Williams' beautiful religious sound (or 'pastoral sound', alternatively). I love this score! Tons of great themes, setpieces, and cues! Many have such negative feelings towards this score because of WR! I blame WR! When even the final film is basically temp-tracked with PS then it is a fair bet that the workprint was too.

gkgyver 1,645
The way future films sounded, I'm fairly certain the majority wasn't temped with PS. The rerecordings in DH stick out like a sore thumb.
mrbellamy 6,287
I remember a test screening report from Deathly Hallows: Part 1 mentioning they recognized Dark Knight in there. Didnt Conrad Pope mention 28 Days Later or something in the last one?

Perfectly understandable decision.
Arpy 4,145
Wanted to give some joke answer, but gave some thought to the possibility that Christmas Star from Home Alone 2 would be a place Williams looked back to, though on the whole I don't think the theme itself would've started from any kind of temp track. Fawkes could fit so easily into Home Alone it's not even a joke. You can almost see a mother tearfully hugging her child in a momentous reunion when you listen to that theme. Nick Parker 3,040
Getting acquainted with this tune, it definitely feels like it was written in "For Always" mode, the main melody and its harmonies, anyways.
