    • Yes, I did get it although I already have VS's "Home Alone 2: Lost In New York ? The Deluxe Edition" (or the OS).

I think it's a great release. I've enjoyed having it.

No, I didn't, because I already have the old Fox CD, which is more than good enough for me -- a perfect representation of the score. Lovely score, though. I play it every Christmas.

Got it..! Finally arrived more than a month after I received the shipping notice.

I voted for second option. I can say it's a terrific release.

I have the previous 2 CD release. I've been getting nearly all new Williams releases over the last few years, but Witches of Eastwick showed me that there's not really a point in re-buying an already remastered and (nearly) complete release.

And so you didn't get this one...?

I am starting to think that it will take 10 years for this to be sold out!

Exactly.

I already have three different Home Alone 2 CDs, including the VS one. Really not sure I need another.

Passed, have the Varese. Had the original Fox album.

I never owned any other edition, so I bought this one. Honestly not sure how much I'll end up listening to it - it was a bit of a challenge getting through the whole thing on my first listen. Hopefully I'll find time to go back and pick out some of the highlights for repeated listening. Of course, the presentation is great.

I never bothered getting it. I'm fine with my copy of the Varèse Deluxe Edition of the release.

Never had any of the other releases. It's a really cool album, production-wise resembles the first one as released by LLL.

I wouldn't recommend buying it if you already have the previous one. Pointless, really.

Yeah this is kind of the case the recent BSX release of David Arnold's GODZILLA had. Great for those that never got it, but the "extras" are simply not worth it (unless you are like the BIGGEST fan of the score and want every last ounce of it) if you already got the previous release, and sound quality is either identical or similar enough to not be tempted.

While I did have Godzilla already, Home Alone 2 I did not. So this release was right up my alley! :)

I own the Varese version and didn't think cashing out a few more dollars to get 12 minutes of new (and not all JW) music would be justified.

Agreed.

I want to get it eventually. But it's very low on my list, since i own the Varese.

I much prefer the look and design of this reissue over the Varese one though (which I have).

I wonder if 1. the sound quality is indeed better than on the Varese album; and 2. if the extra tracks are worth having.

Anyone who has compared the two?

to those who bought it and have the varese too:

Does the new booklet offer any new insightful information or analysis of the score?

Ok, now what to do  Buy or not buy...

Yup. It's on par with Matessino's notes to the first score release from 2010, actually.

Well, they concern a different score, don't they? He analyses it in a same way he did the first score, that's what I meant.

Because I haven't got the Varese edition, though, I can't compare the two sets' notes...

I think MSM meant to ask about Varese's release of Home Alone 2 compared to LLL's release of Home Alone 2.

Yes that is what I meant...I misunderstood crocodile, sorry for the confusion :)

Okay, I've decided to get this after all.

Sure, I don't really "need" this, but any LLL or VS John Williams project is worth supporting. Plus, it'd be nice to have it in my collection.
